Quality is key at this simple yet humble cafe. If you want great coffee and simple but great quality cafe food than look no further. The Gift Shop Food & Drink is such a cute little cafe with a very small menu but don’t be discouraged by the small menu because looks like the key is to deliver perfection on every single menu item. Everything here is on a small scale, from the menu to indoor and outdoor seating to a small price tag but we loved how simple and small it was and looks like it’s a hit with the locals too because we kept seeing regular customers coming and going constantly.
The coffee here is great and made beautifully with great care by the owner himself and the milkshakes are of course delicious as well. The staff are wonderful and even offered us some blankets to keep us warm as we enjoyed our lovely brunch. The standout dish l would say was the Coconut berry granola bowl. Not only did it look amazing, it was actually one of the best granola bowls l’ve ever had. Packed with goodness and finished with a cheeky maple drizzle. Really beautiful dish that shouldn’t be missed!

Read moreA cute little cafe in suburbia. It’s hidden away a little, on a quiet street with a couple of other small shops. It was relatively busy when we came, on a Sunday afternoon, with most of the indoor dining area occupied, and some of the outdoor dining also taken.
The staff were friendly and welcoming and I loved that there were dog bowls for water! The decor was homely and comfortable, with a rustic and down to earth feel.
The menu options were decent. Not a huge amount of variety but good enough choice. They mostly have sandwiches or burgers for lunch. The food was presented well, with the paper with “Deli Dakota” printed on it, and a deli style metal tray as the plate. I loved how you could split a milkshake into two to share, as the portion was just right for two!
We ordered the Reuben sandwich and the chicken burger. The chicken burger 🍔 was great in terms of taste and texture - the bun was soft and fresh and the chicken crispy. The slaw or salad was also nice and the burger was decently packed. the Reuben sandwich 🥪 wasn’t as great. The meat itself was nice and tender but there wasn’t much. Instead, it was overloaded with the sauerkraut and pickles (I think?). We also found a hair in one of the sandwich halves 🥲
Overall, nice atmosphere and cute cafe but I might not go for the...
Read moreAs a coffee lover, I decided to try this Cafe 30 minutes from home. It is located in a old strip type shopping area so lots of car parks and looks out onto Newnham Rd. Seating both inside and outside with outside best in the morning. Greeted by a very happy person who was very customer focused and didn’t mind that all I was after was a coffee.
When asked he explained the origin of their coffee beans and was very knowledgeable. Customers were very mixed and as time went on I think more locals came. Coffee came quickly and I noted for a cappuccino it didn’t have any chocolate on top. That said it was well presented. It was bitter to taste more so than a Merlo or Di Bella bean.
Temperature was excellent. I have had better coffee but are willing to try it again and see if I missed something. If I were going to drive 30 minutes I would rather go to New Farm or Graceville.
