Badminton Brew — Restaurant in Brisbane City

We've regularly come here over the past 18 months over our local coffee shops as we love the brownie and coffee here so much, however the staff are very disinterested and don't engage or provide a pleasant service. We were one of only 3 small groups in today, and the tables were dirty and not cleared at all during this time, both coffee and food took a significant amount of time considering the lack of trade. We said thank you and goodbye as we left and whilst one girl responded pleasantly, the other just looked at us with a blank stare. Visited for coffee and cake after seeing many posts on social media. $30 for two relatively stale cakes and one small and one large coffee. My small flat white was half foam - definitely not a flat white - rather a cappuccino. I was surprised to hear my partner asked if he’d like either cake warmed up. Who warms up a lemon tart? It would curdle! The raspberry friand was also dense and past its best days. The poor quality food and average coffee were exceptionally overpriced and not supported by quality service on this occasion. Over the last 7 years Badminton Brew has been my favourite cafe for a fresh croissant, superb coffee & friendly chat - I have to stop in everytime i'm in the area. The gorgeous new aesthetic of Badminton Brew makes you feel like your in a tropical sanctuary while in the cozy suburbs, a huge attraction for the area. Rachael (the owner) makes you feel like family when you walk in, she instils the same work ethic into her staff who greet you with joy every time. What an absolute treasure...
