Review: New kid on the block makes chicken competitive.

We’ve driven past so many times on the way to the “Other Famous Korean Chicken” (or OFKC) down the road, but was catching up with some friends so decided to try out Haeduri instead.

Was keen to try the UFO chicken because they don’t have that at aforementioned OFKC and as a measure just their ordinary chicken, both boneless and normal.

People complain the service is slow but it takes time to make good chicken, and freshly cooked fried chicken is worth the wait. Even though it was pretty empty, we waited about 25 mins to get our first dish and when it arrived we were kicking ourselves for not ordering more.

Warning : The UFO chicken cheese bath is not for the faint hearted and lactose intolerant. The chicken was delicious, though I could have enjoyed a spicier chicken.

The fried chicken was delicious, super crunchy and not enough. Lucky we had to time to digest waiting another round after our second order!

We ended up taking a Boneless three set and packing up some for a few friends. Well cooked, delicious, and the crew were friendly. But I have to say I had hoped that the prices would have been more competitive! It’s pretty up there! We spent a pretty penny for what we got. So I couldn’t justify a 5th star sorry!

It’s a close call between Haeduri and OFKC; while we’re being honest we like the flavours at OFKC better and they have a wider menu but I think we’ll just have to divide our time between the two for variety.

🥢 🥢 🥢 🥢 ½ chopsticks.

Notes: Went on a weekday, early dinner for 3. They sell beer. Good for catchups with friends or just for takeaways (although I saw a guy eat a piece out of his takeaway because it makes you wanna crave it so bad), restaurant was clean and cool. Wish they gave boxes for leftovers like they do with takeaways instead of...

Came for the UFO Fondue Chicken at Haeduri Chicken, left more impressed by their BBQ chicken! Fun night of catching up with some foodie friends over Korean chicken, which Haeduri have loads of, in various flavours and cooking methods of fried, roasted, and baked.

Our order: UFO Fondue Chicken, $39 - spicy chargrill flavoured chicken with fondue cheese rice puff crunch chicken, $32 - original crispy Haeduri chicken coated with rice powder for a healthy alternative Korean BBQ chicken, $34 - add authentic ribs flavour to authentic Korean style barbecue chicken

The UFO fondue chicken was indeed a highlight with much paparazzi attention paid to the cheesy swirling/pulling/dipping action. The dish comes with a load of roasted wings (I counted 29 in our set) in two flavours (one spicy and one non-spicy), on a platter over a portable gas stove. The cheese melt is all DIY - I’m not sure that any of us really knew what we were doing but we enjoyed giving it a red hot go! Just bear in mind that the wings and cheese are extra (temperature) hot, so don’t be too quick to take a bite!

I noticed the rice puff crunch chicken on another foodies‘s IG stories and was pretty keen to try the dish. It was the only fried chicken option we had and TBH it didn’t quite live up to my expectations, in that I didn’t think the rice powder added much to the crunch factor.

So it was still the roasted chicken dishes that won the night for me, with the ribs flavour in the Korean BBQ chicken dish edging out the novelty of the fondue chicken to be my favourite of the 3 dishes.

Hard to believe the meal only came out to $15 a head for the 7 of us who shared the chicken dishes - we all had our fill and there were even some leftovers taken away. Definitely want to return and check out more from the vast array of...

ever since i saw photos of their UFO chicken dish on instagram, i’ve been waiting eagerly to visit Haeduri!! they are situated in a shopping complex with supermarkets and fruit shops next to them, parking is a plenty here so no worries for parking! staff here are quite friendly, they are a popular restaurant so there are quite alot of customers to attend to~ we ordered the UFO chicken, which is different chargrilled chicken around a cheese fondue! the chicken is tender and moist, flavoring is beautifully seasoned and delicious!! the main highlight is the cheese fondue, it definitely was eye catching and exciting to wrap the chicken around with, but personally i didn’t really see how it added to the taste, in fact the cheese hot too overpowering at one stage and i preferred just having the chicken on its own~ we waited around half an hour for our dish, quite a long time but they state they make everything to order hence it’s freshly made and will take longer so if you are hungry and cannot wait a while possibly don’t come here, if not, definitely try them out!! tuesday is their 20% off oven chicken special,...
