My friend and I attended a class to make a small lady sculpture. We had a great time and really enjoyed it. It was over 2 weeks- 3 hours each day. It felt rushed as the teacher kept us moving onto each stage. Probably an extra hour would have been good, especially on the first day while we were building our ladies. The 2nd week was for painting. Our teacher made a very clear point of telling the whole class that you only needed one coat of paint and that it would not show brush strokes. She made this instruction very clear to the whole class. This contradicted the pottery painting experience my friend and I had, but we followed the instructions. We were both very disappointed with the end result after firing and glazing. The paint clearly should have had 2 coats. If that had been the case, I would be thrilled with the outcome. My end result certainly does not match the paint vibrancy and consistency that Monte Lupo is known for. On the 2nd day our teacher was also very adamant about us filling in a feedback form about her teaching methods. To the point that it just became annoying when she kept telling us over and over to fill it out and we hadn't finished painting our sculptures. I have tried to take my disappointment up with the studio, but have had no response to my email. I would do another class, but next time I would make sure to do 2 layers of paint and would also advise the class of my...

I visited Monte Lupo for the first time today and all I can say is WOW! What a pleasure it was to visit. The staff are all super friendly (special shout out to Nathan, Sean and Helga) who made sure we were comfortable and anything we needed was attended to.

The drinks and food are all great and the art on display is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend you check the place out.

PS: special shout out to the lovely Helga for showing us around and telling us all about the lovely activities that happen on site, what a delightful tour she gave us! Oh and for the AWESOME lime thick shake she made me...

This little hidden café tucked near the corner of Padstow and Warrigal was a true gem. The artwork including sculptures and colourful pottery caught my eye and upon entering you're greeted by smiles from members of the intellectually disabled community. They run this place under supervision and brightly describe to you the art work. I didn't stay for a coffee but would love to the next time. We need more of these kinds of cafes in the community and it was a joy to visit it.

Fresh food, English Breakfast Tea leaves served in cute teapot. All food made on site. Colourful cups, plates, saucers, teapots made on site Also for sale. I had Banana Pecan bread/slice warmed up with butter. Delicious. Sat outside in gardens filled with joyful sculptures. Hidden gem to visit. Covid restrictions apply.
