Have been to this brewery multiple times and generally enjoy the laid back vibe and good beers. This week was different. There was an electronic concert/gig held there from 6pm. Made the whole venue unpleasant. Smoke machines and rave music at 6pm isnât what I seek in a brewery. Music was so loud you couldnât hear any conversation. Completely missed the mark for their regular clientele and ruined the evening. Wonât be returning.
Response to Phil -
Hi Phil, I appreciate you canât control the weather so our event aside, a rave at 6pm isnât what your regular community is wanting. I barely expect that from a regular bar let alone a brewery. Smoke machines in an enclosed venue and music so loud so early in the night no one can hold a conversation, isnât pleasant.
Being adventurous sounds fun and some of those ideas will be enjoyed by your community. I canvased the people enjoying the rave last night and they were all 18-25 and were barely enjoying any of your product. Going to the bathroom was a challenge as there was constantly 6-8 girls in there trying to film themselves dancing. At this point Iâm not sure you know your community.
I live on the northside and travel regularly with friends to your brewery because the beer is good (we canât get your takeaways anywhere convenient), generally the food trucks are good and again the vibes are usually great. Pinball machines, pool and the table games are spot on. The distance and money spent getting to you is worth it.
I didnât leave a review seeking any compensation. I thought long and hard about leaving a review, I went through your previous reviews and they all allude to a chilled place where people can meet and catch up. This appears not to be the case anymore and I just wanted people like myself to be aware that the vibe is/has changed. That booking a 40th at this brewery isnât a good idea.
If you want to make it up to anyone in this situation you can reach out to the guy who doesnât like to celebrate himself. After a lot of coaxing he decided to do something he likes for his 40th - enjoy a good craft beer with some friends at a chilled establishment we all like to frequent. But instead of being able to catch up with the people important to him he was made to compete with music usually reserved for 2am and wasnât able make a speech to thank people.
For me, the good beer doesnât warrant the hike (pun intended) and the risk of having to endure another rave set. Good luck with your...
Read moreThis place is phenomenal. The beer is good. VERY good. The staff are amazing and super helpful. It's a good place to come to wind down after work or get away from the kids. But it's also a great place to BRING the kids - mine refer to it as the 'handball stadium' - very kid-friendly, and lots of space for play. Noisy kids aren't a problem. They have solid live music options, and an excellent rotation of food trucks. I love how well they communicate what's coming up: that's both on the beer front, but also on the live music and food truck options. They have a fun calendar of events.
And did I mention the beer is good?
I drank more of Hiker Brewing this year than any other beer. And that was by choice - because it's very, very good.
Well worth a visit (or an online order for that matter - I've done both).
Thanks Phil and Dan - keep up...
