Was excited for my first visit here today. Had the double smash burger, fries and an iced mocha. Smash burger was rather plain, just the beef and cheese. With the type of bun being on the thicker side, the herbed mayo did not carry it enough. Could probably benefit from some pickles or some other sauce. Fries were really nice and crisp but would have been even better if it came with some truffle aioli and maybe some cheese on top or something. For a $20 burger and $11 fries, I think it should be better. Would be nice if there was an option for fries on the side for a lesser amount. With coffee it can be very subjective. I found it alright, partner didn't like it as much. Was wondering if you can choose different beans when ordering a mocha? Would still like to come back and try the ham and cheese toastie and matcha from marukyu koyamaen so I'm looking forward to trying it next time. Think that you guys have potential to be even better and that's why I'm leaving this comment. With some minor tweaks it could almost be one of the top cafes in Brisbane.

Popped in on a busy public holiday, around 0930 and had to wait about 5 mins for a table to free up, which quite a few did. Had the scrambled eggs, which came with a generous thick slice of spur dough and some nice crunchy chilli oil on the side. Food was good, but loses a star as I found a hair on the sour dough after it was brought to the table, unfortunately. Have had this happen at plenty of other places too, so not unique to here by any means, but might be worth more cafe's making their kitchen staff wear hair nets or caps to reduce the chance of this happening? Coffee was good. There's also a toilet on site which is handy if needed (although there is no signage on it). Will aim to get back again and can hopefully avoid stray hairs leading to a full 5 stars.

This was recommended by another restaurant owner to us. I had high expectations based on the coffee reviews. There are some interesting coffee choices. I unfortunately didn't like what I choose, which makes the whole experience disappointing because the cafe had nothing else going for them. This can perhaps be prevented if the waiting staff talk to customers about the coffee choices. This will be a much better use of the staff time, rather than overservicing the table. There are very limited food choices. I would recommend a better presentation for a $17 egg scramble with chilly oil. Service is annoying as the waitress comes to the table way too frequently. I got irritated after the 6th time or so she is at my table within the first half hour of my visit

Update: Having easily spent somewhere around $1000 here on takeaway coffees and food, I was really disappointed with how I was treated today.

Here’s the situation: my 2 year old son and I sat at a small table opposite the counter while waiting for three takeaway coffees and a menu snack for him, which is one of the very few items he can eat due to his severe anaphylaxis. At first I tried to hold him off and wait for the snack we had purchased from the menu, but it quickly became obvious that this was going to cause a scene and disturb nearby customers. To avoid disruption, I gave him a small snack from next door and some berries. I also had a bite of his food, but this was while we were waiting on and paying for three coffees and his hash brown. We were not dining in.

As his hash brown arrived and our coffees were brought out, I was told that outside food is not allowed. I understand policies exist, but in this case it felt unnecessarily rigid and inconsiderate. What is preferable, a toddler running around disturbing other customers, or a toddler quietly eating his safe food while we wait for the coffees we had just purchased.

We would happily sit and have breakfast here if the menu catered for children with severe allergies, but it does not, and that is completely fine. What is not fine is telling off a long time, loyal customer for doing the bare minimum to manage a child’s needs while actively supporting the business.

It left a sour taste, and honestly, it did not need to. A little empathy and understanding goes a long way, especially when your regulars are trying their best to juggle kids, allergies, and still choose to spend money at your shop.

Update to previous review: Pretty sure this was a weekend, not a public holiday - but anyway. In any case, all issues from below were resolved.

Previous review: Efficiency is non existent here. Sure, the coffee is great, but you’ll likely wait 15 mins in line to then wait 15-20 mins for your coffee. It’s not insanely busy either, they just lack any logical process to collect orders and push them out quickly. Suggestion, have the food menu available for people in line so they don’t have stand there deciding once they reach the front of the line. Another one - maybe have a takeaway line and a dine in order line. A couple of simple fixes would have this place punching out orders so much faster. For multiple baristas running 2 x machines, it’s way too slow, but the issue is clearly in their...

Absolutely obsessed with Supernumerary Coffee Shop!! From the second we walked in, the vibes were immaculate — cozy, cool, and full of good energy. The music? On point — just the right mix to make you want to stay all day.

I had the Cheb roll with avocado and WOW
it was next-level delicious — fresh, perfectly balanced, and bursting with flavor. Literally no flaws — just chef’s kiss perfection! đŸ„‘âœš

And can we talk about the service?? The young guy who served us was an absolute legend — super lovely, welcoming, and just great to chat with. Made the whole experience feel personal and memorable. 10/10 service!

This place has everything — amazing food, great vibes, awesome staff, and an atmosphere that makes you never want to leave. I’ll definitely be coming back and telling everyone I know to check it out.

Supernumerary, you’ve got a fan for life! Highly...
