Marine World Seafood Cafe — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Eww, absolutely disgusting. I literally saw one of the staff pick his nose and then go straight back to handling food with the same hand. No gloves, no hand wash — nothing. It was filthy.

Did anyone else notice something a bit off about the food? I couldn’t tell if it was just the spices or something dodgy, but the fish had a weird, almost off smell. After I ate it, my stomach was doing flips all night. Thank God I didn’t get the runs, but it definitely threw me off.

Honestly, I was trying to give the place the benefit of the doubt, but after seeing that bloke touch food straight after picking his nose — yeah nah, that killed my appetite for days. Completely unacceptable. I didn’t report it to Queensland Health ’cause I don’t have solid proof the food was bad, but honestly, someone should check this joint out. I’m never going back.

Last reply I’m not interested in your excuses I won’t be coming back anyway. No one walks around filming everything 24/7 just to prove a point. Whether something’s defamation or not is up to other customers to decide, not your attempts to talk your way out of it.

Just remember this: every bit of criticism comes from somewhere. Maybe it’s something you did that you thought was nothing, or something you didn’t even realise was connected — but everything happens...

After reading a few recent reviews specially the negative ones I thought I would make a comment as well, I have been going to this take away for a very long time but not in the last 5 months, a few comments have been related to the possible change of hands and quality of the food so I thought well im going there to see if its what people are claiming, I placed a phone order, all was good, turned up on time, they misplaced the order....but this was quickly resolved, I didn't see the old faces there, seemed new people, my order was the seafood platter 2 and salads, got home, opened the packages and the first thing I noticed was the chips, over cooked, I opened the other packaged and there was the fish, calamari and the prawn cutlets, all looked fine, my wife and I got into it and tried the chips, they tasted bad, burnt taste and a bad oil taste, the fish pieces were ok, rings were ok, the prawns were ok, the salads were good, we threw the majority of the chips in the bin, value for money is average, not sure if I m going back, I was...

Holy portions! Thinking I was just shy of starving I nearly ordered one of the platters, but limited myself to the seafood Basket. Now, I'm a big guy who loves his seafood, but I couldn't finish this $17 plate of calamari, fish planks, prawn, scallop, seafood stick, seafood patty, and fries (chips) was abundant. The entryway for this fish market/restaurant was a little disorganized, but that almost lends to its charm. I did not wait long. My wait between ordering and them delivering my food was well within the reason and the outdoor seating was very pleasant and set far enough away from the street (with hedgerows in between) that conversation was easy and the air clean.
