I’ve always loved this kebab shop. Yesterday I walked in and there were different workers also wearing uniforms (I never noticed uniforms before). Online, on their paper menu and the menu on the TV screens the price for a regular beef and lamb kebab is $12.90. I walked in with $13 cash. The girl serving me with a strong American accent asked for 40¢ more. I said I might have that amount in my car. Found 30¢ and was still told to pay 10¢ more (like seriously, it’s 10¢). I asked how much it actually was, and she said $14.40. I said the prices are different online. I prefer to pay by cash to avoid surcharges. I was then quite angry and embarrassed so I just said ‘I’ll put it on card’. She said ‘10¢ on card?’ I said ‘no, the whole thing’. She looked at me so confused. I said ‘as in give me my cash back and I’ll put the whole $14.40 on card’. She gave me $13 back (but I don’t have my 30¢—not too worried about that). The price ended up being $14.56 on card which I wouldn’t have paid that or even gone in if I knew the correct price prior to going. Anyways I got my kebab, it wasn’t so good either. Lots of meat which was a plus but minimal sauce and salad. The lettuce was all in one large chunk in the middle. Meat and bread quite dry as there was not enough sauce. I won’t be going there again. Not paying $14.40 to receive shit service, leave feeling embarrassed and have a kebab that is not even that good. Please make sure your prices are correct on all sources. I still don’t know why my kebab was $14.40 as every menu in the shop and online says $12.90. I didn’t add any...
Read moreI can't believe this place has been 5 minutes down the road for MONTHS and I somehow missed it!! Thankfully the street advertising caught my eye this week, and the hubby and I made a b-line for the place to check it out. We're both BIG fans of Turkish food, with his having spent some years in Turkey, so we have standards haha! This place is an absolute GEM. I just can't fathom how l lucky we are.
Hubby had the kofta plate, grilled traditionally over charcoal, served with rice pilaf that made him groan haha! I had the sujuk pida and let me tell you, that's one generous perfectly balanced mouthful of DELICIOUSNESS! And we ordered what I think is hands down the largest Turkish bread we've ever received, with a side of cacik dip (yoghurt, garlic, cucumber). Needless to say, we didn't get through it all, but we're so excited to head back very soon and try again!
The menu covers a huge range of all your favourites, from kebabs, traditional dishes (I'm getting the lentil soup next time!!) And some clever twists (hello chocolate hazelnut baklava made fresh!).
If you haven't tried this place, get to! Haha! And thanks to the whole crew for bringing such a amazing food to the neighbourhood! We'll be seeing you...
Read moreThe food is AWESOME - like, really, really lovely. I would really love to give this place 5 stars, except - we ordered from here two nights ago for delivery and unfortunately, we were given only half our food. I rang the restaurant and they were willing to fix it but I had to order something else and pay for delivery - they did overcompensate for the mix up. So, we were craving for again tonight and hey, it’s Saturday night and the food was great. Again, except, it happened again but worse!! The food was AMAZING, but we were literally delivered only half the food. They had missed an entire meal and sadly, it was a battle to get them to admit it when we were both looking at the same receipt - we spent almost $100 in our first order alone, it’s frustrating getting only half the order. Kind of defeats the purpose of getting delivery when have to pay for it twice. To be fair, thus far, they have compensated well in the second delivery. In fact, I’m waiting for tonight’s second/missed items delivery now. Like I said - the food really is lovely. Delish!! I really want to go back, just hope that the delivery/ordering issues don’t happen again. Overall- DEFINITELY...
