The Blue Fin Fishing Club — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Kind of difficult to find if you don't know where it is. But has large off street shaded parking. Friendly staff and patrons. Clean venue. Medium to large size pokie area. Large dining and bar area. Didn't have a feed so can't judge that. A soft drink was going to cost me $4.70 I think it was and I complained and asked for another with no ice. Tried to charge me for both to which I said I wasn't going to pay for the 1st one as there would of been less than half a cans worth of liquid in it.. 100 mils maybe of post mix tap beverage. Told the staff I'll give them $5 for both or nothing and leave as wasn't in a mood to argue over exorbitant prices. Was told you can get free softdrinks at certain level membership. Told them you can get free softdrinks at plenty of gaming rooms at plenty of bars around Brisbane. Skulled the 1st glass in 1 go and said see it's just a glass full of ice. Barely any liquid at all. I think $5 for both is fair and we avoid an argument and causing a scene. The offer was accepted, a scene was avoided and dropped $150 in the pokies and left. Won't name staff member because they will probably get reprimanded rather than rewarded for how they handled situation. Richland lions, Richland hotel and Inala hotel are all nearby and all give free softdrinks in gaming area so doubt I will give this place...

First time visit. Nice dining area, good parking. Two meals of whiting fillets with salad were ordered, however, when they came to our table with them, my daughter looked at them and said we ordered whiting. The guy said that they were them. Now, we know what whiting fillets look like and these were nothing like it. They didn't even match the menu description. The chap looked at my daughter like she was stupid to ask. For a start it was one big piece of fish and not small crumbed fillets as whiting usually is. One bite in confirmed it definitely wasn't whiting. It tasted like and looked like Cod. Too thick, tough, and bland and tasted as if it had been frozen. My daughter said, "they must think we are stupid". She also said, " wouldn't you think it being a fishing club and with the name, they would have fresh fish?" My son laughed and said, that would be too logical to think that! Other than this disappointment, the toilets are definitely in need of an upgrade....

Impressed with the food here, very fresh & a really good variety. The pricing is very reasonable & the daily blackboard specials are amazing for the prices. Table service was very impressionable with very friendly, happy & obliging staff. The entire club was lovely & clean with a good atmosphere. Parking was easy & well lit. We were there for a 60th Birthday & everything ran smoothly from start to end. I would of given a five star rating except for where the tables were situated. We were around the corner in an almost separate area & therefore couldn't see the entertainment or any of the dance floor. It was really too far away from where it was all happening. In saying that though we all enjoyed ourselves despite the area we were in. Happy to recommend this club to anyone & if your thinking of making a booking then I suggest you ask for where you would like to be seated at...
