Top Wok Asian Kitchen — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I can't understand the negative reviews? I've been going here for 15 years and the food has been consistently fresh, the meat tender, the service totally fine. Surely as a mature adult, when you try a new place you go in knowing it might be what you like or it might not? Surely only immature, entitled people would expect it to be exactly to their taste and throw a tantrum of its not? Wouldn't you just say 'oh well we tried it, not for us, let's try somewhere else next time'. So sad that people want to fill the world with petty cruelties that can impact a families livelihood. The woman behind the counter has always been dignified and reserved never rude. Not once in 15 years. I guess if some large aggressive entitled tantrum throwing grown up child is screaming in her face that her food is bad and demanding a refund, (for it not being to their taste) I guess she could feel a little threatened and defensive. If you just don't like something don't leave a bad review. Just accept it's not for you, grow up and move on to the next place. The quality of meat used by Top Wok is as if it has been kept in the freezer for many years, well beyond its expiry. I was served stringy, chewy, terrible Mongolian beef which was clearly being velveted purely to salvage something not fit to be served rather than to enhance its taste and texture, and the sweet & sour pork was slimy--yes slimy!

I made the mistake of giving Top Wok a second chance thinking the quality of the food may have improved over the years or that perhaps their vegetable dishes would be better. The problem was, I ordered stir fried vegetables and was instead given stir fried cabbage and nothing else. That would be fine if I wanted just cabbage, but that was not what I was paying for. It really seems as if they served just cabbage as if they had no other vegetables on hand or that that was their cost-cutting strategy to remain viable as a business.

Something is terribly wrong at the Top Wok Chinese Kitchen and I cannot recommend anyone give it a visit to test themselves against such culinary disaster. You will get better quality Chinese food by microwaving a mass-produced frozen meal bought from the...

Dropped in for takeaway after a long day at work ! Was the only person in the shop , took 25 mins to make 1 meal , got it home and was horrible !
