IN 2 THAI — Restaurant in Bungalow

Our group came here after hearing about it on our way from the airport to our hotel. After browsing the brochure we decided to give it a shot and it was a wonderful decision. The atmosphere was cozy, the drinks were fantastic, and the food was spectacular. The service was prompt and accommodating and the owner was present to answer questions or address any concerns (of which there were none). My partner and I tried each of the cocktails available (Chiller and Phi Phi Island). She and I enjoyed both immensely. Our group got a mixture of foods that included Pad Thai, Stir Fry, and Green Curry. The portion sizes were plentiful and the quality was outstanding. We’re visiting Cairns and our Air BnB is nearby this restaurant. Went in and were ignored by the staff and we were the only people there. We and had to go up to the front to ask for seating. Meanwhile an elderly white couple walks in and the host (owner?) falls over himself to help them. When we ask for the bill, no one gives it to us, again we go to the front. Food was good but not worth the casual racism.

Edit RE: owner's response: did not mention the owner was white, but that probably went without saying. It's not ironic for a racist white guy to own an Asian restaurant, that's just extremely ordinary and...

Food was amazing and very affordable. We asked for any recommendation and were told that the slow cooked beef curry is very popular. Thank you so much - it was awesome. Super soft meat and perfect texture and taste. The green curry was also delicious.

Service was also quick and super friendly. We got our second bottle of water before the first was even empty. Might sound silly for locals, but for us Germans it's always a nice thing to have. There is NEVER free tap water in German restaurants :(

Seems to be a popular place with the locals, a lot of take aways .. even people bringing their own plates to avoid...
