Visiting family in Casino and this was the only place open over the Australia Day Long weekend. I was warned not to come here given the grumpy owner, overpriced and ordinary fare and poor service. I should’ve listened. I paid $16.00 for a large coffee and a ham and cheese croissant. The coffee was average. The croissant when I unwrapped it I couldn’t believe how small it was. It was tiny, barely a couple of mouthfuls, very ordinary with next to no filling. Despite bringing this to their attention I was simply and rudely dismissed and told this is how they are. Needless to say I’m used to paying a lot less for far more and better quality. I left the croissant on the counter and walked out. I couldn’t even bring myself to feed it to my dog. Naturally I won’t be returning. Country Crumb here I come!

Lovely Old School Café - Coffee Lounge and Bakery. Located on Walker Street Casino. Has inside and outdoor dining areas. Offering Pies, Sausage Rolls, Slices, Tarts, Freshly Made Sandwiches & Tea and Coffee. Had a Steak and Mushroom Pie and Neenish Tart. Which were both good.

That would have to be the worst sausage roll I have ever tasted. Bought the small sausage roll. Pastry completely undercooked and the filling tasteless and completely dry. Awful so definitely not recommended!

Keen to avoid a multinational chain for lunch my husband and I stopped here on way to Tenterfield, last Saturday. My husband had "pie and peas" (the top of an ordinary pie lifted and mushy peas tipped in) and a macadamia slice. I had a sausage roll and vanilla slice. The vanilla slice was excellent. I am sorry to say the sausage roll tasted like sawdust and the slice was overly sweet. The pie had an adverse effect on my husband's intestinal system. Luckily we could make a loo stop in Tabulum, following severe cramping in the last few kms prior. The ladies serving were very pleasant however the older male server had clearly had a bad day. I do wish to support small local businesses but I will be guarded in country areas...

I’ve been here 3 times and all 3 times the gentleman has been rude and very short. I walked in this morning with a smile on my face and my family and I said ‘we’d like some breakfast please’. He replied ‘what do you want?’ In a manner that could only portray - I don’t want to be here. I said a menu please. He said it’s on the board looking at us like we were idiots. After that we just walked out. This man has the absolute worst attitude I’ve come across in hospitality and it’s not just a one off. The other people that work here are lovely and this man brings the whole place down. Will not be...
