on the 14th April 2023 4 lady friends and I had lunch at the thai restaurant at the hotel. We all ordered main meals and I ordered starters and a friend ordered chips. The waitress was lovely but the food was terrible. They were late to open too. Dont have the Braised pork and rice it was meat dry and the rendered skin and fat tasted very odd. No it did not have a tasty sauce sauce it should have been braised in or at least over it on serving. The rice was gluggy and my prawn spring rolls were frozen on the inside and the dipping sauce highly watered down. The pad thai was in a tiny bowl with rice on the side and the serve of the satays was small with a very liquid very chilli sauce over the top. The restaurant was not busy only 2 other tables of 2 people on each no excuse for a dry , minuscule, tasteless meal. Now the other issue was the bar that serves the poker machine people and the food area was run by a older woman with shortish blond hair. On arrival we I waited 10 mins for a scotch and coke no sign of any staff until I called out for the 3 rd time and she came from an office. My 2 friends who had come with me then went up to order coffee and the woman had disappeared again my friend called, looked in the poker machine room and on coming back saw the woman in the office again. Our other 2 friends arrived and yes the woman was missing in action again our friends then went to call down the hall to the office for drinks. I later went to get a lemon lime and bitters and there were 2 people on the poker machine side waiting for drinks and poker machine change or chips or something. This woman at lunch time kept going missing and was very short and rude to our table a young couple who walked in then left after just a drink and to the elderly couple who wanted wine with their lunch. I really think that the owners need to get the old bistro back in action with real pub food and get some nice well mannered staff who can be bothered looking after customers. I d just like to say that several locals we spoke to said they never would go to...
Read moreOur first time since the new menu and new Chef Wait time for meals: 40 to 50 minutes, mind you they werenât very busy Cost: Around $90 Our Order: Scotch fillet, Medium Rare. Came over cooked on three occasions after being sent back. Steak was like eating drywall and tasted as bland as their service. The chips were very obviously re-fried multiple times and had chips from different batches based on how some were overcooked or undercooked. The side of guacamole wasnât even a guacamole (definition of guacamole: a dish of mashed avocado mixed with chopped onion, tomatoes, chilli peppers, and seasoning) instead we got mashed avocado with a jaw dropping amount of lemon
Wild Barramundi came over cooked, oily and dry all at the same time.
The side of truffle mash had no flavour of truffle or seasoning.
Waiting staff asked about the meal when taking our plates, and when I explained our experience, we were told I didnât know what I was talking about and didnât even listen to what we had to say, much rather just tried to start an argument. We were never rude and only spoke in a respectful manner. As a Chef of more than 50 years experience I was insulted by the response I got from the senior staff member and would not recommend your food...

One and only family for the night, so I can't say it's booming.
Lighting was something to be desired for. The lights that were there, 60% worked and where light was needed, no lights existed or didn't work.
Normally, l wouldn't be so critical, but it does all make a difference.
Won't be returning or...
