Charlie's BBQ — Restaurant in Connolly

Have ordered from here many times with food always fresh, hot and good quality but after last nights food and more importantly, response from the store I will never order here again and wish to share my experience as I am so disgusted with the customer service I’ve received. Last night we ordered our usual but received it cold. Our chips were cold to the point of inedible they were so unpleasant. Our burger buns were completely cold as were our patties. I let the restaurant know and was shocked and horrified at the response. Basically we’re told in the response that receiving cold food is to be expected for two reasons:

1. it comes with salad and sauce. Both of which are stored in the fridge. Stated “we can’t be expected to warm salad that is stored in the fridge can we” What an outrageous thing to state to a customer.
2. it was a takeaway order and it was 11 degrees so therefore Cold food is to be expected. If it’s acceptable from a businesses perspective to serve patrons cold food because it’s takeaway then why are you offering a takeaway service? Furthermore to suggest our food was also cold because it contained salad is disgusting and insulting. Your response lacks intelligence, a customer focused response and is so insulting, rude and unprofessional, my jaw was literally on the floor, I couldn’t believe this would be written to a customer. Cold food is not only unacceptable and should be refunded or a voucher for the amount spent issued but is also a health hazard and could make people sick. Customers be warned that a bad experience in this restaurant will likely be met with a response as pathetic and unacceptable as mine. Spend your money somewhere that values...

Absolutely disgusting the way they treated a member of staff and the way they spoke to myself as a customer. I ordered a junior meal- chicken tenders (gluten free option). 15 mins after waiting, several customers came in and ordered and left with their food before what I assume to be the manager to walk out and member of staff asking who took the order. The way he spoke to her was rude and not needed. I told him that it was my order. He said that it was fried chicken how can it be gluten free (even though it states there is an option on the menu). I calmly asked if it as possible to grill the tenderloins ( this is what they did last time I ate there). He told me it was a meal for 10 yr old and that I didnt look 10. And walked off, swearing. 15 mins later we finally got our food, there was barely anything in it- I wouldnt even call it a meal( this is not just because it was a junior meal, I have ordered the exact same beforehand). Not only am I disappointed with the about 30 min wait on the food, when several customers are coming in and leaving with food, ordering after me, I am also appalled at how the man working there spoke to myself and the member of staff also working there. The situation was handled in the completely wrong way and there was absolutely no need for him to swear at myself nor the member of staff. Cheese Burger Nashville Chicken Tenders Chips & Gravy

The Cheese Burger was cooked well and had nice classic flavours. The highlight for me though was the Chicken Tenders, they were one of the best I have had in a while, they were seasoned well with the perfect balance of spice, juicy chicken, and the coating had the perfect crispiness. The chips were quality, but the seasoning was a little off. A little less salt would have made them perfect. The Gravy helped cut through it, though.

Had to try the Reuben Burger, and it was tasty. Nicely cooked brisket, beef patty's, and bacon, with nice stringy cheese and dressing.

Indoor and outdoor seating, air-conditioned, and plenty of free parking.

28 Jan 2024 The O.G Chicken Burger Fries with Chipotle Mayo

Hadn't been to Charlie's BBQ for a while and was craving a chicken burger. Chicken was cooked perfectly crispy and juicy on the inside, nice flavour from the sauce, well cooked bacon and freshness from the lettuce and tomato. Fries were ok, but a bit too salty for my liking. They were ok with the chipotle mayo. Good service, I received my order within 15 minutes.

First Post - Lunch The Big Tex Burger was huge, well made, tasty, the fried chicken was crispy. Loaded Cheese Burger Fries were nice. Great service, didn't have to wait long...
