Damp day, damp atmosphere. ..We were last here a few months ago, my god they've lost the plot and can't cope with a crowd, that's not more than 12 people. No greeting when we arrived, found our own seats. Now we know why it's pay before the meal as we waited just on an hour for our meal to arrive, as if it was the other way around we would have left after 1/2hr. In the meantime, there was one person running meals up to the crowd in the bar (not more than a dozen people) and not even an 'oh, I'm sorry your meal is delayed. When they finally brought us our meals there was not even an appology or a smile or enjoys your meals. The Kurt atmosphere and just sitting for all that time didn't make it pleasurable eating our meal. As we left the scary/rude waitress come cook was taken by surprise when I told her we wouldn't be back as we waited too long without an apology. She was shocked and she said I'm sorry (which she angrily said) did you see how many people there were in the bar.. What a joke, a good pub knows how to serve a meal within 15 minutes, no matter how many customers are there. Id hate to see the if they had more than 12 in the dining area and 12 in the bar. Shame on you Newmarket hotel you need to pick up your act, employ some happy, courteous staff and not just pander to the needs of the regular, Friday workman who spend a extra few dollars on their beer. So my friend and I have a little ritual we do when we travel - it’s called a weird beer . It’s where we go for beer to somewhere usual and off the beaten track. Well, this place fits right in. Drove past , and my intuition knew straightaway that this was the place for a weird beer. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed, greeted with a smile and poured a nice cold beer. This is a place I can definitely recommend. Even got to chat to a local who is more than happy to share information about the area. We had a good chat about the local AFL in the area. The waitress also was very vulnerable and opened up about events that took place many years ago and how the local community gets together and does a charity event. It was a beautiful...

Unbelievably good! The food was fantastic and came out hot and very well prepared. The portions were big and we both felt full thoroughly enjoying every bite. The Honey Bacon bread was exceptional as well.

The beers on tap were perfect and the legend behind the bar was very friendly and happy to pour them. From the greeting to leaving he made us feel welcomed and was quite helpful. There’s a pool table and darts as well. Great venue, great staff! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a...
