McDonald's Cowra — Restaurant in Cowra

Decided to stop into McDonald’s in Cowra to grab a late lunch and use their rest room as the bathrooms used along a 9 hour trip weren’t too shabby , as McDonald’s have a reputation for good hygiene practices I said “ let’s stop here”… Well, huge mistake. Their bathroom and toilet cleanness was horrendous; with wet used toilet paper on the floor around toilet, dried faeces on the floor, over flowing bins. Their disabled/ baby changing room was in an even worst state with dirty nappies overflowing the bin…

Next we move onto the restaurant were the floors were greasy, flooded with food, not a clean table to be seen and every bin inside and out overflowing with rubbish.

If that wasn’t bad enough the food prep area and service desk was worse still.

The service was unwelcoming with the main host out the front wearing her reindeer antlers and spreading her Christmas cheer chanting “ close the doors, close the doors”.

While the staff appeared under the pump the state of this restaurant comes solely back to very poor management and their negligence in their hygiene practices snd compliance standards. In my junior years I worked in my local McDonalds and this would have been totally unacceptable level of hygiene.

I see there a a lot of reviews mostly relating to what I have mentioned and for a long time. For this reason it’s very clear that McDonald’s don’t care about their hygiene and OHS standards and should be reported. Which is what I will be doing. 0 out of 5...

Waiting for my order at this store on Tuesday afternoon at 12.30pm , 20/05/25. I was witness to 25 minutes of abuse , bullying of the workers by the store manager. I eventually called her over, blond ponytail , lots of mascara about 30ish. and quietly said to her I was upset at witnessing this behavior and she shouldn't be treating the staff like this. She elevated the tone of her voice stating she could do what she wanted and so on. I again stated it was not ok to speak to them like that and she said it was non of my business.. I told her it was now my business as she had involved all the paying customers who heard her abuse and intimidation . She gave me my cold food and ordered me out. I told her I had paid for hot food and I would like it replaced.. she ranted on about her staff being at fault.. In the end I asked for my money back ... her abuse of both the staff and myself was sickening and the browbeaten looks of the young workers was upsetting. She ordered me out and screaming at me that I was banned... I am proud I stood up for these poor workers and will be sending a complaint to the franchisee owner as this toxic behavior is very bad and needs to...

Recently we had cause to stop for a lunch on a Monday mid afternoon, two weeks ago.Tables adjacent to the McCafe area were filthy and every table bar one had either food wrappers or congealed food or salt sprinkled about. Another diner across from me seeking a clean table for his family of small kiddies to eat off went off no doubt to source some cleaning assistance and returned with a McDonalds labelled spray cleaner and cleaning cloth and cleaned up himself. Talk about self service. The restaurant was choccas with staff, in fact one worker on the McCafe area adjacent to us was busy making and Tupperware boxing sandwiches. Clearly customer contact wasn't in the job description. It's crazy that patrons paying over $13 now for a large double quarter pounder meal have to clean their own tables. I'd take the bag of food and go sit in my spotless car if that was me. Needless to say I didn't want to venture into the restroom to wash hands judging by the general state of the dining area.
