I visited the restaurant last Saturday. It was very busy with no available tables at first, but one Asian lady (possibly the owner) kindly came out, arranged a table for us, and looked after us with excellent service throughout our meal. I really appreciated her effort and kindness.
However, I was very disappointed with another young staff member, who looked under 20 years old and seemed to be Aussie. She was unfriendly, never smiled, and I felt she was looking down on Asian customers. At one point, she even pulled a plate away from me in a rude manner just because our group was five people while the table was set for six. This made me feel very uncomfortable.
Honestly, I had been considering bringing a large senior tour group of 40–50 people to this restaurant in the future, but after this experience, I have to think again. If staff members show such poor attitude and prejudice, I cannot recommend this place to my customers.
That being said, I want to emphasize that the Asian staff (including the lady who may be the owner) provided excellent service, very attentive and kind. My review is not to criticize the whole restaurant, but rather to point out that this young staff member does not seem suitable for hospitality work unless she can improve her attitude. It’s unfortunate because there are clearly good and hardworking staff here, but one bad experience can affect the whole image of...

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Thai Yim in Cowra! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by their outstanding customer service and warm hospitality.
We ordered the Chilli Basil Fried Rice and Pad See Ew, and both dishes were bursting with incredible flavors. The balance of spices, freshness of ingredients, and authentic taste truly stood out—some of the best Thai food we’ve had in a long time!
We came at 4:30 pm, which was after their lunch special hours (ending at 3 pm), but they still went above and beyond by offering us free drinks. It’s rare to see such generosity and care for customers.
We were traveling with our 22-month-old, and the staff kindly provided toys to keep our little one entertained while we enjoyed our meal. This thoughtful gesture made the experience so much easier and more enjoyable for us as parents.
The combination of delicious food, exceptional customer service, and small touches like catering to families truly sets this restaurant apart. I only wish there was a restaurant like Thai Yim in Sydney—it’s a hidden gem that Cowra is so lucky to have.
We highly recommend Thai Yim to anyone visiting Cowra. This is a must-visit for great food and hospitality!
Thank you, Thai Yim, for such a memorable...
Read moreLooking for a nice asian restaurant in Cowra? Forget about the Hong Kong Chinese restaurant and head straight to Thai Yim for a delicious authentic Thai cuisine. Thai Yim is open 6 days a week for lunch and dinner.
The lunch special menu is available between 10:30am to 3pm everyday, starting from $15 including a soft drink or bottle of water. Thai Yim offers entrees, noodle, soup, rice, curries, stir fry and dessert dishes. We found the lunch special appealing and ordered crispy pork belly with veggie, which was extremely delicious but spicy. Crab fried rice tasted like crab even though we couldn’t see any crab! Tom kha, didn’t look very white and cream, but tasted pretty good except my parents thought it was a bit salty. Pad see ew was nice, but too sweet! And a super sweet thai milk tea served in a huge tall cup.
Not sure whether there was a communication error between the person taking our order and the chef, we requested no chilli or peanuts in all our dishes, but one of the dishes was very spicy. Something to keep in mind especially for your children’s allergy, always try the dish before you give them the food. Other than that our experience with Thai...
