I was so looking forward to a lovely breakfast, but unfortunately my dining experience at Smokeytown Cafe was really disappointing. Sitting outside in the chilly morning air, I requested two poached eggs on sourdough, to be followed by pancakes, after I’d finished my eggs. I also ordered a strong latte in a mug, and specifically requested that this arrive later with my pancakes. In about 2 minutes my coffee arrived, and a conversation needed to be had about me previously ordering coffee to arrive later with my pancakes. So the coffee went back. Next, my eggs and pancakes arrived at exactly the same, and I explained that I’d asked for my pancakes to arrive after I’d finished my eggs, as we were sitting outside, and they would be cold long before I got to eat them... so after a discussion with all three staff members at the same time, the pancakes went back. Read moreA beautiful, quaint, cozy cafe in a very convenient location! Staff were amazingly helpful and friendly, and were very understanding and careful with my dairy allergy. The food came out in a very reasonable amount of time and was hot, fresh and delicious!! we absolutely adored it and our bodies felt good afterwards for having a healthy meal. The atmosphere felt safe and friendly and cozy. The prices were unexpectedly reasonable, it is hard to find a good meal for less than 60 dollars for two nowadays, and we left only having paid 40 for 2 meals. Very very impressed and will likely be back on our way to daylesford...

Friday night's have proven popular with the introduction of curry night. I always enjoy the big breaky and the open steak sandwich. Be sure to try the grilled chicken with avocado. The only fault is that the milkshake containers...
