Beautiful creamy ice cream with amazing hit of flavour. I’ve had a craving for pistachio ice cream for the last month that was finally sated at Denmark Gelato and it was fabulous.

The staff told me that the flavours change day-to-day and week-to-week. I presume they always roll out the favorites, and change out some of the more specialised of the range. When I went they had: Vanilla Mint Choc Chocolate Salted Caramel White Chocolate and Macadamia Fig and Walnut Cookies and Cream Sugar-free Rasberry Sorbet Vegan Blueberry Muffin Strawberry Sorbet Hazelnut Rocher Mango Sorbet Rum and Raisin; and when I returned the Pistachio was available.

They have single and double scoop cone and tub options, and a baby cone for $2-great if you are watching the waistline or for the little ones-plus they do take home packs in 500mL and...

Denmark Gelatto source local milk to create delicious Gelato flavours in store. Do not be deceived by this small Cafe in the heart on Denmark. There's a wonderful atmosphere with friendly staff and incredibly smooth and flavoursome gelato! Mini cones are available for the little ones who couldn’t manage a big ice cream.

Scrumptious pasta dishes are also created here, which includes four vegan options, all very reasonably priced and decent sized servings. They also make risotto and toasties too. I wish we'd known previously about the pasta, as we only called in for a gelatto. They smelt delicious, we will have to return another time!

The food is okay but the service is terrible. The staff did not know anything about the lunch menu and when I asked about the dish I was ordering I was told to 'talk to the chef' and then proceeded to be ignored for the next 20 minutes whilst waiting for a coffee I had not received till the end of our meal. When I asked the other server walking around the shop about my order he said `we're busy now, I don't know' . Around 10 people that came in after me had received their orders. I went up to the counter to ask about my order and was told it was on the way. After this it took them about 10 minutes to make a single coffee. No apologies, the staff was extremely unfriendly.
