I had two recent experiences with this store. Both left me feeling disappointed and highly unsatisfied.
The first visit:
I walked into the store. There was only one other person in front of me who had just placed their order. I ordered two chilli rippa meals and two extra chilli aioli sauces. 28 mins later I finally received my meal. Red rooster is a fast food restaurant. Taking 28 mins to produce two rippas and chips to me a absolutely not acceptable. I could cook chicken at home in just the same amount of time in the air fryer. Not to mention the chips by that time were cold to touch, undercooked and were unseasoned. I also never received the two chilli aioli sauces which I was charged $2 for.
The second time I did the drive through.
I placed the same order.
I mentioned to the staff that the previous time I used the store the chicken was not the same and the chips were undercooked and unseasoned. She said she would make sure the meal is correctly cooked. When I received the meal once again like before the chicken was nasty and dry and the chips looked like they had been cooked twice and were dripping with oil and once again had no seasoning.
Another thing to mention is that this store seams to make there own chicken strips which are tasteless, inconsistent in size and dry.
She said to me that the chicken tenders they used before were too expensive to buy which contradicts the sign they have on the drive through stating that they cannot get stock.
I will never use this red rooster again. If this is the way they serve their customers and cook their food their days...

When he got home (over 10 mins drive) we opened up the big bag and saw the hot chips were missing. I called Red Rooster right away. Got an unprofessional young girl (at least she sounded young) on the phone informing me that she'd just been on break and slapping me on hold while she checked on situation. Got back on phone and she asked me what was missing again. I said the hot chips. I asked if we could get a refund for all the trouble and she said no we don't do that but we can get an extra hot chips. I tried to explain my husband would drive there and back again and miss his dinner and it being hot at that, and it was their fault and she was pretty nonplussed. I felt annoyed and asked for the manager and this teenage-sounding girl informed me SHE was the manager!! Unreal. So unhelpful. So my husband went back out for the chips. BTW, the mashed potatoes and "gravy" were disgusting. Tasted like liquid plastic. Here's my advice and what I will do in future: go to Charnwood Charcoal Chicken, buy two or three consistent and delicious chooks and make your own mashed potatoes...
ย ย ย Read moreGenerally a comedy of errors. I go here fortnightly or so because it's the only place in Charnwood shops that generally doesn't have a line. The food is generally pretty good because Red Rooster is generally pretty good, but everything else is lacking. The biggest problem is the staff which just seem untrained and uninterested. They forget orders because they bump them from their system early to fix their KPIs. You generally need to coach them through your order because no one seems to have any idea what station they're working at or what has already been made. The place is surface clean. By that I mean they do the required amount of cleaning but only the required amount. Things just smell from food rotting under seat covers. There's also always broken windows on the store that just last for months. In general just go somewhere else if you want any sort of quality. Even McDonalds is better / faster. If you want Red Rooster food and don't want to bother going else where though it's sort of ok even if you sometimes only get food after 30mins of hand...
