I was around the area so decided to give this Chinese take away a try. I regretted it. The staff is lovely. The prices are reasonable. But, I question if they’re Chinese cooks at all. I ordered a chicken with ginger and shallot dish and a stir fry vegetable in oyster sauce. The vegetable dish is ok but it has onions. I don’t remember Chinese food has onions in vegetable dish. The most disappointing dish is the chicken with ginger and shallot. If I could add a photo in this review I would show you what a chicken with ginger and shallot SHOULDN’T be. It’s full of vegetables like a mixed vegetables dish, no shallot and no ginger. It tastes soooo sweet. No shallot or ginger taste. And it has onions!!! I ordered these dishes because I cannot have onions. I don’t expect to see bloody onions in a GINGER AND SHALLOT dish. Had shantung chicken and shredded chilli beef. I don't know if the chef just forgot the sauce or what, but none of the food tasted of anything. The shantung chicken was just battered sliced chicken on lettuce. The chilli beef was just battered chunks of beef (not really shredded). Fried rice was OK (as fried rice isn't really supposed to taste of anything) but it was a bit weird as the prawns were huge not the little ones you usually get in fried rice and there were large slices of beef which was also weird. Enjoyed the meal and the staff were very friendly. They advised us when we sat for dinner that they were busy and could be up to 30 minutes to serve mains. Didn't take anywhere near that long and the food was very tasty and enjoyable. Prices also very reasonable for what you get and that worked out well. Would recommend for anyone who wants a nice simple Chinese meal with good flavours and value for money.
