I stop here every time I'm in donnybrook so at least once per week. I have tried every pie they have on offer, and every single one has been disappointing to say the least. Mostly gravy/sauce, no seasoning, more fat than meat ( I've seen more steak in vegie pies), and they zero structural integrity so barely hold up to the amount of gravy they contain (eating one is usually quite messy). Overall the pies are bland and disappointing.

But, the custard tarts are among the best I've had, that is the sole reason I go back there every week, and the only reason they get 3 stars in this...

Really nice bakery with very tasty food. The pies are awesome. I had the chicken and veg for $5 and my partner had the steak and mushroom for $5. Not cheap but good value. We don't mind paying that amount for pies that taste so fantastic. Full of good tasty, healthy ingredients and exactly the right temperature to eat it down and not burn your mouth. They have a great range of bread and cakes as well and a nice area at the front with tables and chairs, to eat the beautiful food and watch Donnybrook life pass by. Recommended by...
