Wattle Cafe — Restaurant in Forbes

2 weeks ago I order fish & chips, potato scallops and fizzy drinks for the family. It was oveŕ cooked chips were so soggy, way to much salt on them, way to fatty. The fizzy drinks were hot not cold. We couldn't eat it. Got very sick from it. I noticed them not wearing gloves at all while using the computer teller & money than using their hands to pick up the fish, scallops [ with the same hands on the teller] what a disgraceful place NO HYGIENE AT ALL. The place was verÿ dirty. Returning to forbes 1 day ago, I ask to part pay as it was the kids money for chips & calamari ring's the boss said no to my child. He wanted to part pay to use his cash. Yet still they said no. So we decided to upgrade his chips in stead of having calamari ring's. The owner said no. So my child just got a hand full of chips not enough to feed one person for $5.00. & YET THE OWNER LEFT THE CHIPS SITTING ON THE TOP & MADE A BURGER FOR ANOTHER PERSON LEAVING THE CHIPS TO GET COLD. Stopped here for lunch on our drive home from central NSW, it's called a Cafe but it is 100% a takeaway fish and chip shop, definitely not a cafe, I was hoping for some pies and sausage rolls or foccatias or sandwiches ect, you know, cafe food, but they didn't have those things so we ended up having fish and chips instead and I resorted to a burger with the lot. The place felt a bit dark and dingy to be honest, plenty of seating though, massive shop space. Food was good, my boys both likes their chips and potatoes cakes and calamari rings and I must say my burger with the lot was something else! A real propper takeaway style burger. Big! And absolutely dripping with grease and they didn't miss the pineapple and beetroot either. I would have preferred it served on a plate instead of wrapped in paper as we were dining in though. My latte coffee was made well, not to hot and very smooth but again I would have preferred it in a mug instead of takeaway cup. 4 stars for these...

I was soo disappointed. I ordered a plain hamburger with pineapple and they brought out a hamburger with the lot. When I said I had ordered a plain hamburger the man told me I had not I had ordered a hamburger with the lot. I explained that I would never have placed that order as I am allergic to egg and he rolled his eyes at me and told me I had ordered a hamburger with the lot. This went back and forth and he ended up telling me 4 times that I had ordered one with the lot even when I explained that he must have heard me wrongly as I would never order one with egg on it as I would probably end up in hospital. Finally he remade me the original plain hamburger with pineapple and BBQ sauce that I had ordered, offered no apology and did not refund me any money after charging me for a hamburger with the lot.
