Thank u lucky Bao for a fantastic lunch. I am a lover of the simple bao bun and when I saw what delicious creations they had on there menu, I couldn’t just do 2 I had to go all out and get 4. I mean why not, if ur hungry eat and that’s what I did. I order the: Confit pork belly, Taiwanese fried chicken, Korean glaze beef and the crispy glazed eggplant and WOW, I never thought eggplant could taste so good but it was sensational out of the 4 the eggplant was my favourite then the beef followed by the pork and last the chicken. I love the texture of the Taiwanese chicken but it wasn’t a wow bao for me. The staff were friendly, I loved the chilled vibe of the establishment with a really good playlist playing in the back ground. I’ve had a really great casual dining experience here and will definitely return to try the rest of the Bao’s on the menu and get this they have even got a deep fried Bao which come with vanilla bean ice cream, peanut and red sugar, now that sounds like a treat to me. Enjoy 😉 the Bao folks! The only downer was the parking as it’s in a little corner shopping complex in mermaid waters. Other that, I will definitely...
Read more17th Sept 2023 I thought it was about time to update my review of Lucky Bao. Not sure why as not much has changed....still great!!! My partner and I stopped in for lunch. Very cheerful staff, always makes a great difference. Place is nicely laid out with inside and outside seating options. My partner had a tofu bao, I had the agedashi tofu and we shared a shaved cabbage salad and pok choy. All delicious although the pok choy stems were a little chewy which was only an issue as the pieces are big. Chop sticks made eating them a little troublesome but the taste was spot on. If you are after a big "feed", the cost will add up but what you get is beautiful , tasty, healthy food. For mere mortals, the food will leave you satisfied and happy to remember each flavour some mouthful. Recommended and reliable.
2017 Asian hamburger alternative but healthy and full of flavour. Plenty of choices too not just the baos. Could recommend the tempura soft shell crab bao, the salt and pepper tofu bao, the pork bao..yummy! The taro chips which sound a bit radical were to die for. Service friendly, atmosphere good, plenty of places to...
Read moreBooked here for a table 12 for a birthday get together. Service was hit and miss depending on the staff. We were lucky to have a female waitress that had missed her calling and should have been a comedian!!!! Not The food was on the whole delicious and all dishes were well presented and tasty.
All was well until the bill arrived( and I paid it without thought). Close to $1000 for 12 persons, working out at a whopping $82 per head for Asian tapas. I admit I don't mind a tipple and this included 2 bottles of wine and the odd glass of wine for others, a couple of beers and soft drinks.
It might be me but $82 per head for tapas is excessive, if this is what you are happy to pay, good luck....if you are happy with average service and good food this is most definitely a place you should visit..
Oh and the restaurant itself is tiny and large groups will be outside in an unthemed basic undercover area.
I did reach out to Lucky Bao to clarify the bill without luck, hence the review. A real shame, as if this was the full real deal it would be touch to match.....chef's you were...
