Pop's Pizza and Kebabs — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I went to the Pop’s Pizza for the first time last Monday 8/8/22 and my experience was terrible. I bought two things (a regular pizza and side of hot chips) which I paid first for the pizza and then decided to get a hot chips, everything was ok in this point. I’ve waited 10 minutes what was very quickly service 👍🏽 but when I came to get my pizza was missing my hot chips and the lady that got my two orders said that I haven’t paid for it which wasn’t true definitely paid for my hot chips, I might have creature a confusion in this lady mind because I’ve paid in different times but I really paid for it. Try to explain to them that I’ve paid but the “lady” attendant said that I was lying. I work for hospitality as well and I’ll never say that to my customers. This was unprofessional and ruined the image of the business. I felt really bad with this situation and apologise myself with the chef for the inconvenience and walk way with my pizza which was really good but I’d love to had my hot chips as well. Grabbed the 2 large pizza's + a drink deal for $35 (garlic pizza pre-selected). We ordered the garlic pizza, and the pepperoni. Gotta get pepperoni, no matter where we. In terms of flavour, the garlic pizza didn't stand out. Good sized pizza, which I liked. The pepperoni pizza was okay, same sized pizza. Both pizzas came with the classic crust, no doughy taste, nice crust on the edge. Here's where the downfall was in terms of the pizza. After eating 3 slices of pizza, whether it was due to the pizza becoming cold due to the elements, or some other reason, the lockjaw started to kick in. It was becoming increasingly hard to eat, it became chewy, and it felt like chewing on rubber. Maybe it was the day we decided to go there. The staff were pleasant. The atmosphere was decent.

With such hype of the shop opening at Ormeau ,we were disappointed to say the least. The service was great with our order on time .But that’s where it stops. The quality of the pizzas is not that great , toppings appeared to be frozen and not fresh. Pizza base was undercooked and had no character. We ordered pepperoni, reef and beef and a garlic Pizza.

How can you call it a reef and beef when there is no beef on it ? Over done with Shredded ham and frozen seafood mix.

Pepperoni was ok,but a pizza is all about the base ,which was meh….nothing exciting . Same as the garlic pizza . Was a solid ok at best .

Cook the pizza longer,and the base might be a lot better.but they really need to review the toppings on the menu.
