Very dishonest, my partner and I traveled up from Tasmania with 4 kids and a dog on the way up to qld and stopped here the first night, we arrived and they had already taken the money out of our account (without our permission) even when we took cash out to pay and told them when we booked that we would be paying cash,
My partner and our 18month old daughter as well as myself got burnt in the shower as the water kept on going cold to scalding hot. There there no phones so when I went down to the office to complain no one was there, the lady’s son walked in from the shops with bags not even a hello but said that “mum will be back soon” so I waited a further 15minutes even used the service bell a number of times still no one, there was a staff member sitting out with workmen drinking and saw me go into the office, little did I know it was the lady in charge (owner) fed up of waiting for 30mins in the office I went back to our room and rang to complain off my own phone to which I got the same lady that sounded drunk. She had me on the phone for 30mins as I wanted awnsers and a refund, she even had the check to ask me if I knew about plumbing and told me that her and her kids get burnt like this all the time in their shower. She also had the check to ask me for my credit card details to do a reimbursement so that she could ask her boss to give us our money back as she “need” to use a “special card” to be able to do this. Which this is not the case with refunds back onto a card... The place had no cups or any cuttlery to make breakfast and even the bunks in our room were very unsafe, top rail was very loose and could cause a child to fall and brake a body part.
Sitting in our room we got a lot of secondhand cigarette smoke into our room with even the door and windows all close.
The lady “owner” is a bad lier and a drunk and the motel shouldn’t be running We ended up getting a $50 refund the next morning at 6:30am when leaving but she said that “her boss” said not to give anything back.” So she was taking this out of her own money”
People be warned, don’t give out your card details on booking and keep driving to the next hotel you’ll be glad...

I booked in over the phone to stay at lilac city motor inn, the woman took my payment ($169) and told me my key would be in my room when I arrived. I drove 4 hours and arrived at midnight to find someone else was in my room. I called the reception immediately after I had discovered this and it transpired they had made an error with my booking, booking me in the night before the date that I had explicitly told them. There was no other room available that night so I was stranded in Goulburn with nowhere to stay.
The fact they made this error is not the reason I am writing this review, mistakes happen. However after all of this they are now not even giving me my money back for a room I didn’t and couldn’t use because of a mistake on their part. I have emailed and called many times and was initially told that they would contact the accountant but then I heard nothing back. Then I called back and asked to speak to the person in charge/accountant and was told he was on holiday (in the peak of a pandemic). Then after this they said they wouldn’t give me the contact details of the person in charge and wouldn’t give me a reason…
The lack of professionalism shown by this company is genuinely astounding. This happened in early October and the owner/person in charge has been avoiding me ever since.
If you want to lose your money and risk getting nothing for it, then go ahead and book with Lilac City Inn but If you value your money and how you spend it, I wouldn’t even...

Watched staff "clean" rooms, and sheets were not being changed! Beds were just remade with slept in dirty sheets.
Manager helped herself to my room, as well as opening the door and taking my child to laundry, although I had expressed not to, had to pretty much chase her across the car park to get my child back while she was telling me " I thought taking him to see the dog would calm him down ". One of the workers was very very unprofessional with their personal gestures.
Room stunk, human hair in the beds, no cutlery, cups dirty, towels dirty, shower was horrendous, couldn't shower my kids as it would scorch them or freeze them, TV wouldn't work properly, heater smelt like it was burning and set the fire alarm off, no milk, only a glass bowl at reception with tiny milks, floor was disgusting, walls were disgusting, rubbish still left in the room.
Asked to use washing machine due to lengthy stay and needing work clothes, they insisted they do it, although I expressed I wasn't comfortable with strangers touching my clothes, they proceeded to wash, with NO washing liquid, and also seen them "washing" towels etc with NO washing liquid.
My mother runs a motel an I can assure you the way this motel is ran is not in any given way professional, cleanly or even close to the standards of being allowed to function...
