Farmers Arms Hotel — Restaurant in Grampians

Highly recommend visiting! Situated down the road from the main part of town, the pub itself looks warm and inviting, the interior takes you back in time with high ceilings and wonderful hospitality. We were greeted by bar staff as we walked in, they were very accommodating to us as we were wanting dinner (they were busy) and quickly arranged a table for my partner and I. We were amazed by the vast varieties of drinks, you have an endless pick of wine and booze due to the connecting bottle shop (some amazing imported beers to pick from). The food is fresh, tasty and prepared with care. As a starter we shared the garlic cobb with cheese which was delicious. I ordered the chicken parmigiana which was outstanding; really good portion and just the right ratio of chicken, cheese and sauce. My partner had the Rib eye and it was unbelievably tender, cooked to perfection (medium rare) the sides of chips and salads were great (they have a lovely honey mustard type dressing which pairs well with everything). The staff were lovely the whole time; checked in to make sure everything was okay and gave us enough space at the end when we had finished our meals(weren't rushing to clear our plates to get us out). The overall atmosphere was relaxing, warm and welcoming. If you are travelling through would recommend stopping by for a drink but stay for a meal if...

A group of us went to dinner. One of us received the wrong steak. The staff advised it was what had been written on the order, he was advised he'd been upgraded because the steak was bigger. The steak was ordered medium and ranged from medium to blue. When staff were advised there was no feedback. Upon payment for our meals they happily advised that we were charged only for the cheaper steak received not the expensive one ordered! The response to the steak being incorrectly cooked was "was everything okay with the other meals." Yes they were fine but it didn't make the steak any more edible..... won't...

Called in on the evening of Anzac day 2022. Waited at the entrance to the restaurant for someone to seat the 2 of us. After some time we sat at a table for 2 and waited for some time but no one came near us. I then went to the bar and asked the bar maid if we had to order at the bar which she confirmed and asked if we had a booking which we did not. She then become quite rude by responding "You can't just walk in and sit wherever you like". Looking at the page in her "Bookings" and seeing the mostly empty restaurant I can not see seating us being a problem albeit we left anyway. Business...
