I like to comment on Facebook and Google when I get great service or value. Flipside, I don't tend to criticize so much but I felt that I needed to on this one. I get my lunch from a few different places - Thai Hut next to me at Margate, Japanese place on the Upper Level at Kippa-Ring (next to Woolies) and I like Red Rooster drive though for a Rooster Roll. But when I went to Woolies at Margate recently, I felt peckish. There's a small cafe there called Le Cafe Noir (Translates to Black Coffee) that I hadn't been to before. I ordered 2 rounds of TOASTED ham, cheese and tomato sandwiches. This is what I got. 1 slice of cheap ham, two slices of tomato, barely toasted bread and a slice of plastic cheese. And the kicker to this? The price! $17 for this excuse for a meal. ($8.50 per round) I reckon the cost is about $2 so an 425% markup. NEVER AGAIN.

Coffee and food ok. but talk about rude and arogant staff. Terrible.

You would think that in a small shopping centre like Margate, they would at least try to have a positive impact..but no..

They can get away with horrific customer service as this is the only cafe in the centre... and as most customers are elderly, and unable to travel much further, they just have to put up with it.

I always seem to be putting them out when i order a coffee and they dont even try to start a conversation. I think i would get a better conversation talking to my wheelie bin.

If you dont like what you do..do something about it as the staff that work here are farrrrr from happy!!!

So i will never buy from you again. But instead I want to let others know that only a few kms away is an amazing coffee spot with staff that actually care about their product and the service they provide.. the shop also have a great view.

Butcher, Baker, Coffeemaker down next to the Belvedere is amazing at getting it right. Le Cafe staff should come and see how it should...

Food not bad but the staff especially that woman who makes coffee -short haired. I was there with an elderly client on Tuesday midday to have a coffee and cake. She is very rude to me when I ask permission is our shopping trolley be ok on the side and her response is “ your trolley is not my problem “ people could bump into it and I get sued “” very very rude !! She should not be in the front counter serving if she has that attitude towards customer. She should be at the back washing dishes if she cannot make herself being nice to customer.

Today she just lost a business from me and my client who used to come over and have coffee and cake every week and we been twice and I already noticed her rudeness before but we tolerated it. But today we just need to walk out and go across the road where the owner and staff are so extremely wonderful and good coffee

I reckon she should be demoted to her job as cleaner or...
