This is where we eat, and for good reasons, too. Saturday, 24 July 2023, was the first time we went here for lunch. We did a run from Brighton, over the bridge into Woody Point, stopped here for lunch, then back again. I was on my eScooter, and my mate was on his bike. On this trip, we passed some other places, but didn't stop as we were on a great pace. When we entered the restaurant, we had some "umm and ahh" over what we wanted and settled on the 2 piece chips, calamari, and fish. It was so good, oh, so very good. The portion was perfect. When we did a similar yet slightly longer run (we just started at Shorncliffe) yesterday, Saturday, 8 July 2023, there were no questions. We were going to "Seafood Town" again and getting the same order. It was busy again, but not uncomfortably so. No waiting in line, or too long for your food, which is always hot and fresh. The atmosphere is as it should be. I told my mate, "This feels like holidays.", and it really does. There can be 15 families in there, and due to the layout, it's still personal - quiet. And the whole time, you have the view of the jetty (its name eludes me right now, even though I just posted a review of it). I've attached the same picture, though it's more appropriate here as it shows a few pictures I took while waiting for our order to be ready. The picture with the jetty in the shot was digitally zoomed in, but you are on the water. There's just a road, and the carpark in between you and the water. Seafood Town is currently my favourite place to eat. I just realised I haven't even mentioned the staff. They are so friendly, polite, and helpful. I believe that they, along with excellent food, are the reason this place is so popular and successful. If you're in the area, and have some kids with you, this is what you're looking for. If you're in the area, and you don't have kids with you, this is definitely somewhere you need to stop in to. For lunch, this is the place. I wish I could comment on earlier and later times, but I've simply not experienced it. As for lunch though - You should...
Read moreNever again will I ever visit this place. Today at 2.40pm(on New Years public holiday) my wife and I rode all the way form Cleveland and decided to call in for a late "Take Away" lunch. As we aren't vaxed people due to medical issues which has now limited our eat in dining options in Brisbane we have had no problems with the Take away option "ANYWHERE" other than this place where we have eaten numerous times before. We were denied take away food as the words of the old lady with the glasses explained, "WE WERE NOT ALLOWED IN THE SHOP WITH OTHER PEOPLE", the lady then informed me that these conditions were passed on to her from her Owner/Boss and they were his words not hers. This establishment has a huge dining area that was occupied by one family of 5 people no where near the ordering counter so we were also social distancing ourselves. I am a 49 year old born, raised and bread True Blue Aussie and have never felt so discussed in all of my life being informed I couldn't be in the same room as "OTHER PEOPLE", now I understand how Black Americans felt back in the 50's&60's walking into a "WHITES ONLY" Cafe. DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE, you can still serve Take Away customers and some of these customers were also your loyal customers for years who most likely help keep your business afloat when COVID first hit, soon you'll have none with this type of appalling, rude service. Hope you go bust this time!! PS. As I cannot response to the owners response below about this disgusting incident as Google won't allow it and I explained this act very clearly to the Lady and also asked her double check and she said there was no need to so don't try to cover this up for what they have been told to say. People need to look at other more recent reviews as this isn't just the act of one rogue staff member, this type of service has been going on for a while and there is a few staff members that should be sacked over not just this poor service,...
Read moreSeafood Town made my wallet feel as though it were an extravagant paparazzi fleeing 'A' Lister celebrity the likes of those you see on the movies happily enthusiastically out bidding at a fine art auction against all those surrounding mere mortals for the rarely on offer takeaway Cod & Chips, and a Seafood Basket when requesting a modest portion of their lunch take away order of the displayed menu items normal common folk partake in on a the regular and, I, eventually paying about 50% greater expenditure than may usual seafood take away locally. Without notice my takeaway lunch order arrived delivered and handed to me by the hands of the lunchtime rush god feeling like I had received a sword from the Lady of the Lake to defeat my foe lunchtime hunger with the succulent delicious Cod & Chips and Seafood Basket... Ready to do battle I fled home with the newly acquired panacea to banish such faminous hunger... I carefully opened the packaging to reveal something that gave me a shock akin to turning me to stone like Perseus's foes looking directly at Medusia's head contained in a wooden crate. Whilst carefully studying what I had received with the intensity of first discovering Caravaggio's Medusa I heard all around my humble shanty of a cottage the F22's, B1 Bombers, Abraham Tanks and finally a heavy knock on the door... answering the door stood a proud American Colonel with 101st Airborne loudly announcing planting a flag on my foot, ' We bring you freedom and democracy, hand over the rights to that oil you discovered.'... Sadly my takeaway lunch order is now considered a territory of the USA and a Democratic Republic I now reside in a darkened cell in Guantanamo Bay with dreams of fleeing to the...
