Minjerribah (Nth Stradbroke Island) is home to one of the most beautiful Traditional Owner groups in SE Queensland. The Noonuccul and Goenpul people have lived here for over 30,000 years. The newest addition to this island is the Straddie Brewing Co. It is situated at Goompee (Dunwich) which is the islands initial entry and exit point when arriving from Cleveland (Toondah Harbor) or leaving from Dunwich. The Straddie Brewing Co. sits just behind the main stores of Dunwich, but is easily seen as it's a large white-ish building. The surrounding grassed area is awesome and incorporates a relaxed atmosphere where chairs. tables and even picnic rugs are provided for their patrons. The multi story building offers everything for the eyes to to look at and the nose to follow. Ground level, is the magic area, where the Craft Beers are produced, the second level is a more public environment where you can order your meals and enjoy the selection of their Craft Beers. The tables and chairs are comfy and inviting, then when you decide to venture up to the Rooftop area, this is a place where you can take in the atmosphere of the island and really embrace the outlook of Quandamooka (Moreton Bay). The seating arrangement allows for both a social gathering or just a cosy area that allows you and your +1 to just have some quiet time. It is definitely family friendly and the little JarJums (children) are also catered for. From my observation, there is no childrens play area, but I also didn't look for this. The toilets are really well presented and are kept very clean. There is disability access on all levels, and the seating arrangement allows for ALL patrons to be engaged and feel welcomed. We didn't have anything to eat so I can't provide any information on this. The beers are nice and refreshing, and they range from the standard Crafts through to the IPA, but has everything in between also. There is also a good selection of shelf spirits if you prefer this. It is a very clean place and the staff are really engaging and make you feel like you are an old friend. If you have a fury canine companion, then they also accommodate this on the bottom level. They provide dog water bowls for your pooch to drink from. Parking is varied, onsite parking is minimal, but there is parking all around the place, so it shouldn't be a hassle at all. Remember to hop into the Straddie Brewing Co. there on your way through to the other parts of the island and pick up yourself a carton of Craft Beers before heading to your Campsite or other accommodation and support a local brewer that would love to see you there and have a yarn with you.

Straddie Brewing Co. is a cozy and inviting spot with a modern, fresh, and clean interior that makes for a pleasant first impression. The atmosphere strikes a good balance between relaxed and lively, making it a great place to unwind, whether you're with friends or just looking for a quiet drink. To get in, you’ll need to head upstairs to Level 1, where the friendly and attentive staff will greet you and guide you to your table. The service throughout our visit was consistently warm and professional, which really added to the overall experience. One highlight was the view of the brewing pots — from our spot, we had a clear look at where they actually brew their beer. It gave the whole visit a nice, authentic touch and made it feel more connected to the craft process, which is always a bonus in a brewery setting. The menu offers a solid variety — their own brewed beers, creative cocktails (including non-alcoholic options), soft drinks, wines, sparkling wines, and food. There’s something for everyone, even if you're not a big beer drinker. As for the beer itself, it was okay — decent and drinkable, though nothing that particularly stood out in terms of flavor or uniqueness. Still, the variety on offer makes it worth trying a tasting paddle or two. Overall, it’s a lovely retreat with a good vibe, welcoming service, and an authentic touch thanks to the visible brewing setup. While the beer didn’t blow us away, we enjoyed our time and would recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

The service was friendly, and I confirmed that they still offered the cheeseboard with kangaroo salami, as mentioned in some reviews. When I ordered, they informed me that they were out of their usual blue vein cheese but had a smoked cheese alternative. That was fine with me since I actually prefer smoked cheese. However, the experience didn’t quite meet my expectations. I deducted two stars: one for the difference between expectations and reality and another for value for money. The meat and cheeseboard was $28 and advertised as serving one to three people, which seemed reasonable based on the photos in other reviews. I was happy to pay that price for what was pictured. Unfortunately, what I received was much smaller—more suitable for just one person. While everything tasted great, I was disappointed to get a double serving of olives instead of the variety shown in the reviews.

Went twice over a weekend and will never go back again- First time around ordered two margaritas at $23 each- they tasted so foul- when asked how they were made they showed they used the little green bottle of fake squeeze lime juice you get from supermarkets for $2, that’s why they tasted so bad! The staff said that’s how they make them but did offer a replacement drink so got a glass of wine instead… Gave it another chance the next day ordered dinner there as it was the only place open near the ferry terminal waiting for the ferry home on Sunday night- big mistake! Paid $38 for a seafood laksa that again was completely inedible! So spicy it actually burnt the lips and mid palate- everyone on the table tried it and agreed - might’ve been a particular kind of oil or dried chilli used but it was not fit for consumption- when speaking to the manager he said he wouldn’t order it either he didn’t like it… and other staff I spoke to agreed and said “yeah it is really spicy we get that a bit” if guests can’t eat the dish and complain and the staff can’t endorse or defend it why is it like that in the menu? Change the recipe? The resolution I had to suggest to them getting me coconut cream to try balance it out (it was a very dark red/ orange colour nor normal laksa colour) but even that didn’t work. I was left with this sitting in front of me the whole time awaiting them replacing the dish with another GF item from the menu- the lamb and 50% of that dish was just thick uncooked fat … was a cheaper plate and not offered the difference refunded or anything else. Y this time it was late I was starving and the ferry was coming so we just got up and left. The staff did not care and had no customer service or conflict resolution skills. There was only one nice blonde lady who was helpful and clearly embarrassed. Would not return here again huge waste of money and unhelpful management. That and being next to a massive power tower is widely...

We heard nothing but great things about this place, living in Cleveland it's just a quick boat trip and walk up to the Brewery. My partner and I came to have some afternoon food and drinks, we got one of the food boards which we ended up quickly running out of the toasted bread and biscuits, the staff were more than happy to give us more so we could actually finish the board. I had 2 cocktails which were both delicious and my partner got a few beers, don't even get me started on the view....incredible. We loved it that much we decided to have my partners 30th Birthday held here, I enquired about it via email and Kitty quickly got back to me. I never felt like I didn't understand what was going on, the organising process was made fun, Kitty was so helpful, and easy to contact. They were super flexible and open to us changing things to suit us better. The food we had for the event was evenly spread out to all of our guests, they made the extra effort to make sure the guests with food allergies received their food and of course the food was absolutely delicious. I had organised for some cake and balloons to be there, all of the staff were so helpful in making sure the balloons looked good (and stayed still). The cake from the trip over on the boat had a few of the decorations fall off and not situated properly, however when the staff bought the cake out they had fixed it up for me, that wasn't their cake so that essentially wasn't their problem but they went out of their way for us. All the staff were amazing, they were helpful, friendly and knew exactly what was going on. Extra hats off to Jack as he helped with a few intense situations, however he made us feel all we needed to do was enjoy the afternoon and they'd sort the rest, which is exactly what happened. I'd have another event here in a heart beat, and I'll definitely be back again for some of the amazing food...
