Situated on a historic vineyard in the heart of the Swan Valley, The Naked Fox Wine Bar and Cafe (formerly Little Albion) a European-style café and wine lounge, serves delicious coffee, gourmet toasties, small sharing plates, charcuterie, local cheeses and delightful wines.
The staff were so incredibly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable of the vast selection of local wines and paired cheeses.
We chose - 2019 Dukes Cabernet Shiraz Rose from Porongurup and 2018 Woodlands Cabernet Franc Merlot from Willyabrup paired with a tasty Torndirrup Apenzeller with bread and quince. All so delicious, we could have sat here all afternoon, drinking and snacking!
What a comprehensive wine list they have! More than 280 bottles - uniquely curated by the owners from independent Western Australian vineyards along with beers, ciders and spirits from 100% independent WA breweries and distilleries. Supporting other local businesses, something I am passionate about.
Get comfy indoors on cooler day, warm by the fire, a cosy and intimate setting, with perfect ambiance and comfort. When the sun's out, enjoy the alfresco area or the lawned area under the shady trees. Well worth a...
Read moreStill talking about it!!!! We absolutely love this place!! Finally, after driving past for ages we popped in on a Saturday evening and were sat in giant comfy chairs and made to feel right at home. Our host proudly explained the menu (simple, well thought out) and the wine list (Long, diverse yet not overwhelming). We started with one of the best cocktails Ive ever tasted (The cold pressed Winter) and ordered the baked Camembert with local honey, thyme and fresh baked baguette and the fried chorizo with dipping oil and baguette!! So freaking good. I then had a glass of reisling, he had a pinot noir (incredible) - and we ordered two gourmet toasties - The Taming of the Shrew (mushrooms, truffles, cheese, spinach) and the King Lear (with wagyu bresaola, siracha mayo). They came with some crisps, were jam packed with fillings and toasted to perfection. We were completely satisfied and absolutely thrilled that we had found this place so close to home! Thank you so much to our beautiful hosts - we...
Read moreWe have stopped here for coffee and breakfast many times, but we finally got to come in and try the wine bar menu a couple of weeks back.
We decided on the Cheese sharing board and also a Charcuterie board for 3 of us to share.
They brought it out together on a platter, and it was very generous! We tried hard, but we couldn’t quite finish it! Very nice mix of cheeses, and I found the marinated goat’s cheese a real surprise. I normally am not a fan of goat’s cheese, but this was absolutely scrumptious. The charcuterie selection was equally generous and really tasty!
The ladies had a couple of cocktails which they thoroughly enjoyed. The ‘West is Best’ Mai Tai was one, I’ve unfortunately forgotten the name of the other one. I managed to get the last ‘George the Fox’ cider (it seemed appropriate for the venue :D ) on hand, and that was a really good choice, highly recommended.
I’ve found the staff always friendly, and it is a cosy little venue. Well worth stopping in and...
