We decided to try their food as I chanced upon their website which stated 10% off for first online order. I called them and was advised to download an app and order through their app to qualify for this which I did. However, the 10% discount did not work on that app. So I called them back again and said that the discount was not applied on the app. The person over the phone then decided to take orders over the phone to apply the discount so that was sorted. Since we order more than $35, free delivery applied which they honored. However, when I asked about the free 1.25L drink with any purchase more $50, the person said he is not aware of this promotion and will not honour it.
To which I responded it is on your website and if it is not true, please update the website. I have taken screenshots of these promotions which you can view. In any F & B business, if it is on your website, you should honour it regardless if it was not upgraded. It is your job to update the information and it is not the customers’ job to highlight this flaw. And if this is the information, the right thing to do is to honour the information provided and if you can’t make the decision, the right process is to ask the manager to authenticate the information. It goes a long way, that is professionalism, which differentiates you from the rest as a quality restaurant.
As for the person over the phone, he wasn’t very friendly. It felt to us, he was in a rush like he was very busy and just wanted to get off the phone. The person said 40 minutes wait. We ordered at 620pm expected the food to arrive at 7pm which I know it is ok for 20 minutes more wait is normal. The food arrived at 7.45pm. My house wasn’t very far from this restaurant.
As the food review, we ordered the burger, garlic cheese pizza, a lemon tart and pork ribs. They were all excellent. Whilst the food was great, as consumers in the F&B industry, we cannot deny that service of a restaurant very often contributes a major factor in the dinning experience. Food review 4 stars but service 2 stars, hence 3 stars is the outcome. I would recommend this place because the food was indeed enjoyable. And perhaps the dine in experience might be a more positive one than delivery and ordering online. Well done but please ensure your staff knows how to handle a situation appropriately and update your website and your online...
Read morePLEASE READ Today i had dinner with these lovely people at @theswansrestaurant. However, the service that i got from the restaurant was the most unpleasant experience i have ever had. Never have i ever written a long post/review about a place but after what i experienced today, it just had to be done. The system they did was order and pay upfront, so that's what i did. When the food came out to our table, it seemed that they have forgotten my daughter's food. 10 mins, 15 mins... She was getting hungry. i asked to the waiter, and waiter reassured me that her food was coming. 20 mins, 30 mins... asked again and still didnt come. After a while, one woman came out and told me that they had brought my daughter's food to the table a while ago but "someone else must've taken it". When asked how that couldve happened, she expressed that she did not care. First of all, if this was the case, then it is a definite fault in the system that they are using to run the restaurant because they dont care enough to follow through and make sure that all the customers get what they specifically paid for. Secondly, after trying to sort out with her as to why she didnt care if my daughter got her food, she said to me, "if you dont like it, YOU CAN JUST LEAVE." What kind of restaurant and customer service does this place have? Never once would i think that is a reasonable thing to say to a customer when they have been patiently waiting for their food for 30 mins WITHOUT COMPLAINING and SPEAKING RUDELY. This woman, simply believe that she could speak this impolitely and rudely to a customer just because she claims to be the manager. If this is the kind of manager that you guys have running the place, then not even one cent of your money is ever worth spending at a place with the WORST, MOST RUDE, ARROGANT, IMPOLITE AND IGNORANT MANAGER i have ever crossed paths with in my life. Thanks for making my day!!!!!!! #theswansrestaurant #swanvalley...
Read moreI'm not one to leave reviews ever but this has to be said; Ordered the 400g Steak and the Slow Cooked Beef Cheeks via Menulog. I am honestly surprised at the amount of positive reviews this place has considering the abysmal food we got tonight, I am really hoping that our terrible experience was just a fluke. The steak was cooked very well (nice med rare; so it was tender) despite there not being an option on how you'd like it cooked on Menulog. The Cheeks were also super tender. However that is where the positivity ends. The 'jus' served with the Steak was just oil or butter and had no flavour to it what so ever. Honestly none. Literally just an oil slick which made the chips oily and soggy without adding flavour. I'm a huge steak lover and this was just about the worst 'jus' I've ever had. Super disappointing. The Cheeks were cooked in the most inedible sauce I've ever had in my life. It was truely disgusting. Very sorry to say but thinking about it makes me want to gag. I have never once in my life not been able to eat a meal because of how it tasted. And I'll eat anything! I don't think it was as simple as a personal taste preference because it honestly tasted like it was off/sour. The red kidney beans gave the Cheeks a terrible grainy/sandy texture. I don't think the chef used even a pinch of salt on anything. The 'Wagyu' bolognese served with the steak was depressingly the best part of both our meals and it was just your stock standard plain spaghetti bolognese that you'd get at a terrible buffet like Sizzlers. Very disappointing considering two meals and Menulog delivery was $83. Meals got to us hot and were good portion sizes which was good. But boy-oh-boy was this a disappointing meal that went straight to the bin not even half eaten....
