We booked the Fawlty Towers night last Sunday for $95 each and were expecting an entertaining evening. The show was due to start at 7.00pm. When we arrived the restaurant was locked and we had to assemble in the area next door. We were advised that no drinks would be served during the two hour show and that we would have to purchase the evening's supplies from the small inadequate bar in this area. Along with forty or so other grumpy guests I waited in line for twenty minutes whilst the staff struggled to serve the waiting guests one at a time. By the time I bought my drinks the guests were being ushered into the restaurant by Basil and Sybil. The show began in an entertaining way and we began to enjoy it despite the strange soup and ordinary main course. I don't hold much hope of ever hearing from anybody but at least I now know I have found the real...
Read moreFriend and I fancied somewhere new and had discount through Entertainment Book so we thought would give it a whirl. Have to say when entered the premises, it was an odd layout with what seemed like minimal tables in a large space. However, the staff were friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. We ordered garlic bread for an entree - served piping hot, nice and crisp and with a subtle coating rather than the usual in your face at other establishments! My friend ordered the scotch fillet and I had the barramundi. The steak arrived and was a beautiful cut (lean) and cooked perfectly. The first mouthful of had of the crispy skin of the fish was packed with flavour and with the perfectly cooked vegetables the meal was quickly devoured. For desserts we had the vanilla panna cotta and sticky date pudding and both had to fight an overwhelming desire to lick the plates clean. With a bottle of wine (Silver Leaf SSB, yum!), and bearing in mind we had discount, the meal cost us just over 40 dollars each. A real bargain and we intend to go back and are happy to pay full...

I advised I wanted a vegan meal to which they replied "right, so fish then?" Huh?? Fish are animals too!! I got an entree of chopped red onion and tomato, 2 wee bits of lettuce. main was bits of zucchini and even MORE onion. they said they couldn't provide any dessert. I asked 'not even fresh fruit?' as other diners had lemon cake with sliced strawberries on top. they said no. Hubby then got upset and enquired further. Magically.... 3 strawberries and a slice of watermelon came out 10 minutes later. So they straight out lied. Do not ever come...
