Mumma Bee Cafe — Restaurant in Hilton

$22 for eggs, toast, bacon with hollandaise sauce? It won’t even cost you that much to make it at home. Egg sandwiches with bacon isn’t covered neither is the rest of the food (wraps, donuts, loafs) seen a comment about this a few months ago and sadly fast forward a few months and nothing has been done to combat this issue. C’mon guys if you can’t be reasonable about what you’re charging people for food. Atleast take your health and safety seriously in this cafe. You’re running a hospitality business. Your food just sits out there for flies to sit on and for people to cough over it, bodily fluids get exchanged over payment transactions. It’s all exposed. Gross

Just ok, but maybe my expectations of a cafe are too high? Food was nice enough but fairly run of the mill. Good selection of cakes/sweets but the main menu is small (as is the trend for small cafes with limited kitchen staff). Pleasant decor inside and large outdoor dining area with some toys for the kids. My main gripe is with the staff. Not a single smile between the two guys that served us. No “how was everything” no “would you like a share plate” nothing like that. It’s ‘running a cafe 101’ stuff really. Smile, make eye contact, show some initiative, at least pretend that you care. My first visit this gloomy Wednesday morning. I was looking for somewhere with dog friendly outdoor but under cover seating for brunch. Coffee was good. The chilli and herb scramble was so delicious! It wasn't spicy like I expected but I wasn't bothered because the flavours were so good and the serving size was perfect. I always like a happily growing raised herb garden to sit by as well. Clearly a strong local following with familiar greetings between staff and customers. I'll be back.. lunch specials...
