Restaurant presentation: The Restaurant on its exterior is welcoming, however not so much on the inside, the interior dining area is small, roughly the size of a family lounge room/dining area.
Waiting: We arrived at our booking time, however had to sit for 5 minutes in the front of the restaurant where you order your food, as our table was not yet prepared, despite our booking being made prior. We ordered our mains and entre's, and waited 45 minutes before we received our entre's, our mains followed 5 minutes later. For a total of 50 minutes waiting for our food.
Food: I ordered the BBQ mix, and I must say I was quite disappointed in the portion size considering the $24 price. The corn was perfect and delicious, even thought it was only a half cob, the chicken was tasty and you could really taste the bbq flavour that the restaurant prides itself on. My chorizo and pork ribs however, not so much. While the pork was cooked well. The flavour was very lacking, almost no aroma or taste of bbq flavour at all. My partner ordered the loaded nachos, which presented well with a decent portion, however similar to the BBQ Mix, there was almost no flavour, the chips were bland and dry, and the brisket, sour cream, cheese and other toppings added almost no flavour, despite looking appetising. Very disappointing. The atmosphere of the restaurant, plus our dissatisfaction to the food prompted us to leave as soon as we had finished our dishes.
Altogether our experience was not as we had hoped as we have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time now. We will not be returning...

The "3M Service" (meaning Memorable, Meaningful, and Magical) is evident, making guests feel genuinely valued.
There are, however, a couple of areas that could further elevate the experience:
Cutlery for Steak – Providing proper steak knives would make it easier to enjoy the steaks.
Atmosphere & Décor – While the food is undeniably authentic, enhancing the South American ambiance with cultural décor, Latin music, and improved lighting could create a more immersive experience.
Overall, La Parrilla stands out for its flavorful cuisine and outstanding service, making it a great choice for those looking to enjoy the true essence of South American hospitality in Ipswich. With a few refinements, it has the potential to become an even more exceptional dining...
Read moreThe food itself was enjoyable. However, the experience was unfortunately marred by a serious lack of honesty and respect.
When placing our order, we were told several items were unavailable from the set menu, but that additional items would be added to make up for it. That seemed like a fair solution. However, once the meal arrived, the extra items were clearly missing. We queried this politely and were assured they were coming. They never did.
When we raised it again at the time of payment and asked if a discount could be considered, we were told by two separate staff members that the extra items had, in fact, been included. I had taken a photo of the meal, and it was abundantly clear they were not.
Being blatantly lied to once is disappointing. To then be dismissed and lied to again was, frankly, insulting. We are not fools. Being treated like we wouldn’t notice, or that our concerns didn’t matter, is incredibly poor form.
You may serve good food, but honest communication and basic respect for your patrons need...
