We recently stayed a few nights in Kalbarri and enjoyed a nice fish & chips takeaway from Georges Cafe during our visit. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a menu of Australian servings. Presently, opening hours are 7am to 2pm (Wed - Sun). note that they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Our fish and chips order was very good. Fillets were nicely breaded and fried and tasted very fresh. Chips perfectly crispy fried, served with tartar sauce and a fair bit of salad, nicely packaged for take-away. Everything you can ask for in a fish-n-chip order. Would gladly revisit for a brekky or lunch if in Kalbarri again.

Had a wonderful birthday breakfast here, opens at 7am which was great to get in before work! A few of us had the "morning cure" which was just so delicious, and the Bruschetta style breakfast was also flavoursome and very filling and the Eggs Benedict was very tasty, one of the best sauces around. Staff are very friendly and the service is great! Presentation is excellent. We always expect the best quality and freshness and we always get it at The Gorges Cafe, wish they were open for dinner! :) Highly Recommended and can't be missed when visiting Kalbarri!

A solid brekkie choice! The location is superb - straight across from the beach front and conveniently positioned if you want to depart for the National Park. The staff are also friendly and attentive, running the store like a well-oiled machine. Most importantly, the food is good. The eggs bene was delicious, but I really recommend the breakfast wrap as it became my clear favourite of the options I tried over numerous visits. The big breakfast was ok but not amazing - I wouldn't choose scrambled eggs again, and so, too, was the coffee.

We went to the Gorges cafe at 11.15am for lunch on a Friday (school holidays). I asked for a lunch menu but was told lunch wouldn’t start till 11.30, which was fine. I then asked if we could view the lunch menu in meantime and the waitress snapped ‘no - not until 11.30’ so we went and sat down. I went back to counter at 11.30 and asked again for a lunch menu. I was again snapped at by the waitress that lunch was now not till 11.45 and so ordered 2 coffees. This waitress (the one cashiering/snaking at me about the menus) was possibly the rudest waitress I have ever encountered in my life and is seriously a bad look for the cafe. I even asked her if I had done something to upset her - she was so hostile. While we were waiting for coffees, we heard another waitress advise other customers that lunch was now not till 12. Menus finally appeared and we managed to get lunch served at 12.25. Despite the long wait, and very surly waitress, the food was very good and came out fairly, quick...

Soothing shades of teal and silver complement the golden glow of wood and rock to create a warm welcoming atmosphere for patrons. And come they do - straight off the boats for a takeaway milk shake coffee or wrapped sandwich, locals and tourists alike filling the street parking or wandering in from all over town for a bite of lovely fresh cake, a pot of tea or a picture-perfect cooked breakfast. Shelves stock a range of gourmet delights to peruse while watching the 6-strong open kitchen team whip up your order in minutes while the cashier and waitstaff smile and serve non-stop. My daughter enjoyed a game of designer noughts and crosses perched at the central bar, lapping up attention in the thick of the action. A very slick quick city-style outfit still offering relaxed country charm. A favourite...

We went here twice for breakfast while staying in Kalbarri and both times was great. The staff were friendly, service was great and timing was very reasonable considering it was a busy Easter weekend. Husband had poached eggs on toast with bacon, mushrooms and hash browns, both kids had a kids breakfast which was a good size of 1 fried egg, on two triangles of toast (no fancy bread, just normal white toast, spot on for kids I think!) Bacon and a hash brown. I had the French toast one day which was very nice and then The Cure on the 2nd visit which was very yum! The coffee was nice and hot and of good quality. My only issue is that there is no big breakfast on the menu. My husband ordered eggs your way on toast then you have to get the bacon, mushrooms and hash...
