It was Good Friday so only whiting available, we ordered a family pack which included crab sticks, fish, chips, pineapple fritters and calamari rings. I also order 6x battered prawns and a kids pack which consisted of 3x nuggets and potato gems. The wait was reasonable for Good Friday, about 35 minutes.

My daughter didn't eat any of the kids pack, the potato gems were cold and soft and the nuggets "tasted funny" plus it was unsalted. We opened up our first package which had 3x pineapples fritters that were soggy and very tasteless on a bed of undercooked, hardly salted chips. The chips had no crunch and were bland. The fish was so oily, the paper package had gone see-through. The batter was very thick on the fish and seemed cooked on the outside but floury on the inside and it was again, soggy. Unfortunately the fish was also tasteless. I didn't try the calamari rings or the crab sticks and I peeled all the batteries off the prawns and just ate the flesh,...

Overpriced and undersized. The fish in seafood for 2 option was as long and wide as 2 index fingers. For $42 I would also expect more than a handful of chips 2 scallops 2 crab sticks and 2 crumbed mussels. The $15 fish burger I had was terrible. The only decent part of our meal was scallops seemed fresh and onion rings were crispy but had no salt on them. A real let down

Rebuttal: This is definitely the correct place for my review I remember it well. The onion rings came on top of your fish burger, you shouldn't say you've never done them because it's not only a lie but it's also the only thing you did right. The fish burger itself lacked flavour and texture. I didn't buy the couple's pack. I spent a total of $90 for 2 adults and 2 children and I was obviously not impressed. To be fair we didn't eat anywhere else in Kalbarri so maybe you are of the standard for the area but we definitely much nicer meals in Canarvon, Monkey Mia and Geraldton.

Try the other fish and chips first I reckon

Cant figure out how to reply so I'll edit this from here. I really didn't want to get into it but sorry guys it just wasnt that good. There was one kid on the phone, 3 other kids in the shop who kind of just gave us weird looks the whole time without saying a word. Sorry I think they need a bit more customer service training. The batter was very thick, and although our order was given to us almost as soon as it was ready, when we ate it 3 mins later it was already soggy and not crispy at all. To be honest most fish and chip shops in kalbarri had very avg reviews, we were picking between 3/5 star choices and I feel we didn't make the right one.

Really sorry mate, I know its not what you want to hear. I dont know if the good kids were just not rostered on that night but yeah, didn't...

Expensive and mixed quality Ordered 4 snapper, chips, dim sim, squid and a small salad and came to $91. Snapper was very small ($18 for grilled), squid seemed store bought, salad was not great and expensive, chips good. Quite a disappointment as the staff were nice and friendly and a welcome sight after a long drive. As an Aussie living in Singapore I'm used to overpriced, average food but Australia isn't that - the prices need adjusting to service the market they are looking for. Get your act together.

This evening, we decided to indulge in your fish and chips, but to my astonishment, it turned out to be the most disappointing meal I've ever experienced. The batter was disappointingly soggy, and the chips lacked any flavor whatsoever. The dim sim was overcooked, as if it had been reheated from the previous day. It left me with a sense of absolute disgust, so much so that I felt compelled to do anything to rid my mouth of that unpleasant taste.

Very good and reasonably priced. $5 chips & 2 Spanish Mackerel $12 each was a great meal after a long day in a great location. It’s a busy period in Kalbarri atm, we ordered just before 8 and revived earlier than expected. Portion size was suitable for us and it was cooked correctly (well drained). Eaten on the tables out side clean and tidy area was a great idea at this time of year.
