The Daily Grind — Restaurant in Katanning

Had lunch with family from Perth, very disappointed, not was it used to be. Fried rice and noodles were sweet soya sauce taste only, ordered fish burgers and steak burgers, was not advised they ran out of burger buns it came out with slices of bread. Murtabak was not cooked properly, thrown on over heated hot plate, and burnt outside of dough not cooked through half raw dough. Satays not served with rice cubes, chicken parmigiana shrunk drastically and over cooked very dry so was the fisherman's basket cooked to crisp. Ask for ice coffee, ice chocolate, and milk shakes they had no ice cream, had to change for ice latte, and serve with not enough coffee. it was like drinking ice milk. Very poor customer service not advised of what was not available and still we paid full price for the lot, the cook and front of house needs more training...Customers...

Very unprofessional, never maintain their opening /closing time table, they told me that the restaurant is closed at 2 pm on Friday but it’s showing in the google that shop closed at 4 pm. It’s the second time that happen. It is unacceptable as they should follow their actual opening/closing time which shown in the google specially in remote town like Katanning where there are limited options of Halal restaurants. Also the one day me and my wife was waited for a long time only for coffee. Their excused was there is a program going on and they were understaff, later I have noticed that they prepared our coffee and kept near the coffee machine but did not get time to give us, later we have to leave the restaurant with cold coffee. Need to learn more about restaurant business...

Extremely friendly owner Comfortable seats, great location. Unfortunately, that was it. I think high expectations ruined it for us. For some reason we went here and ordered all their Indonesian food choices. However, none of those were really authentic Indonesian food? Murtabak was more of a pancake and felt like a pancake, Nasi Goreng was mushy and the only thing that was OKish was the Mee Goreng we had. It's weirdly disappointing after expecting so much. But maybe it's our own fault for choosing and expecting authentic Indonesian, in a cafe that has a comprehensively good looking western offering. But once again kudos to their...
