Let me tell you a story.

It's the tale of a wedding, a missed collection date and a hero chef named Prosper. My partner and I had always enjoyed the delicious treats served up by the Manubread team. Their bitesized confections were the highlight of countless workplace birthday parties, committee meetings and other smalltalk heavy events we had attended over the years. When we were planning our wedding reception we knew we wanted a wide selection of treats to share with our friends and family. We ordered a large assorted platter and we knew these tasty treats would contribute to making our special day all the more exciting.

All was well until 5am Sunday morning when we realised we hadn't made the collection on the day before. The shop was closed on Sunday, however within about ten frantic minutes of messaging and calling around we'd arranged with the team to allow us to collect our platter direct from the store. It saved the day and Prosper and the team at Manubread really went above and beyond on their day off. The reception was a success, although a couple of the more eager children from our extended family polished off perhaps a few more of the treats than they should have, but what can you do. An exceptional local business who really care about locals, hard to find these days....

I have been here a few times, cakes are really nice. But today I had a bad experience in the shop. Two girls were keeping talking together, didn’t ask to serve, one young girl kept moving the cakes on the shelf until I asked for ordering. Make me feeling like I am invisible. The young girl put a few cakes in the small bag making the cakes like rubbish, normally they put in a box, I asked her to put the box because the cream on the top of cake was messy. She did and throw the box to me and walk away, didn’t say sorry. I felt like I did something wrong to her. Disgusting customer service. Me and my friend never come back here any more. They treat their...

Always visit Manubread when I’m in Launnie. Top notch quality patisserie/bakery.

12/2023 - if you are a vegan or vegetarian be careful as some of their cakes have gelatin. Best ask.

05.2025 - returned: they've still got it. Pepper steak pie was just that little bit better than your average, while chunky it's chunk styling is, well...sliced and segmented. That may sound unappetising but I'm not Cordon Bleu trained, so, trust me, it's good - and well, maybe you'll get it. Plain croissant were excellent reheated and devoured with quince jam. White sourdough loaf - well, c'mon, is there any better...

Quite tha French experience! The French girl that served us recommended I try the Galeeye Des Rois, which is like a sweet pie with an almond croissant filling. It has a long history, as explained on the counter. See photo. Ms French girl with her authentic accent was careful to ensure I read the note and expect the ceramic surprise inside the Galette. Quite fun! Bagel was also delicious.

My favourite bakery in Launceston. Excellent quality. Love all their products, sweet, savoury and breads especially the Fig & Fennel and Olive loaves. Yesterday I also treated myself to a new dessert, of white chocolate covered raspberry mousse and coulis on a tiny bead of sponge. Wow.

Oh my gosh! This bakery was such a great and unexpected find! We chose many options when having afternoon treats, because 1 choice was too hard to make! Definitely lock in some time into your schedule to pop into Manubread, you will be blown away by the options available.
