I made a special trip to have lunch here and was slightly disappointed. The fish, prawns and scallops were good, but ‘served’ in a paper bag without cutlery, which seemed strange after I said I’d be having it there. Asking for a plate caused slight confusion, as did asking for a glass of water. The shop faces a deeply nondescript street so you might think the owners would make some kind of effort to create a space where people might enjoy eating. Wrong. It’s a stark, empty space with nothing to soften the ugly view and a noisy kitchen and blaring TV to drive you out as quickly as possible. I’ll be back for the food but it’ll be takeaway next time. Read moreOrdered flake fish, squid, scallops and chips. The sqid was great, tender and well cooked. Fish was very very dry and had been over refrigrated or over cooked and quite poor. Scallops were battred really thickly and 1/2 the size of the batter, they did not fresh at all. Not good for $1.80 each! It was very busy and had to wait 40 minutes so maybe unlucky but seemed like I had the chips from bottom of the basket as lots of small inedible overcooked pieces. Compared to other shops chips were average to poor. Would I go back.....no definitely NOT. It didn't live up to the reviews and hype on my visit and was considerably...
