Swamp Cafe — Restaurant in Launceston

Don’t enter this swamp….. 1 star is one too many. Ordered the eggs Benedict and when served one of the eggs slipped off the plate and onto the table. Would’ve been fine if they just gave me a new one - instead the waitress had lots of attitude and told me to “pick it up since (I) will be eating it”. No I won’t????? After telling her a few times that I just personally wasn’t comfortable and preferred to have my food served normally and not on a table she snatched the plate and got me another. It came back with even more mounds of hollandaise sauce all over it and a piece of bread as a compensation (????? - still had to pay for the whole meal) - also the bread was regular white bread so nothing special at all. Finally got to slice into the first egg and water just came running out… I’m a tourist and have heard that Tasmania has some pretty good salmon, so I decided to get the salmon that cost an extra $4 (!), but it was awful and very poor quality and very clearly not fresh, and I love seafood!!! Had the awful taste in my mouth all day. Please, the name tells you all you need to know, the one star only comes from the juice I ordered...

Me and my partner regularly come and buy coffee with treats here and twice we have had a bad experience with an abrupt older lady with short black hair. No customer service skills at all. Although the coffee tastes good she makes it taste bad by her disrespectful behaviour. Twice she has had a go at me and my partner utilising the bathroom and telling us we haven’t purchased anything even though we have. This morning she barged in front of me as I went to use the bathroom and then when she came out she was raising her voice at me and saying she had worked all morning on the counter and hasn’t witnessed me buy anything even though my partner had walked in and purchased this morning. I let her know of the order and she immediately remembered but carried on speaking with me in a disrespectful manner. I let her know that it is not okay to talk to people this way wether I have purchased something or not. And maybe if she learnt how to treat other human beings with respect your coffee shop would have...

Horrendous service. Waited for 25 minutes. No other customers, we sat down and I guess they couldn't see us..Then the staff came eventually and no " oops I'm sorry I didn't see you " Then the order was placed and it went down hill. Simple food and drinks. I ordered savoury toast ( 1 slice allegedly tomato and eggs and mince cheese ) $10.95. Poor value, banana smoothie was liquid and thin, my friend ordered pancakes and bacon...he was satisfied with the portion and taste, his iced coffee was nice. So the sad thing is that some things are good and some... not so good. I will be back for a...
