Thai Satay Hut — Restaurant in Lismore

I was treated very poorly here and after talking to a few other locals they also said that the service at Thai Satay Hut is horrible. I'd recommend going to Thai On Carrington or Little Nonya. When I ordered I asked to have a Thai Curry with no rice. The lady assisting me told me that it would cost extra. She had a bit of an asian accent but I heard her say it would cost $10.50. I thought it was a great deal so I sat down to eat. After I ate an older gentleman was assisting me to pay and after handing him $10.50 he said that it was $15. I apologized for the mistake and told him that the woman at the counter earlier said the curry would be $10.50 with no rice. As I was leaving he said, "The price is also on the board but I highly doubt you would understand". Shocked I said that he was rude and he just laughed. This was totally uncalled for especially since I did not give him attitude for the mistake! ... The quality of the food was ok however it was also next to being lukewarm... Spectacular curries with authentic thai flavours present throughout the dish, fish curry in particular is aromatic and on point. As a regular I always get a Beef Pho (noodle soup) presentation has my mouth watering every time and after a few dashed of chilli oil, I find myself endulging into an astronomical bowl of the most flavour rich broth fixed with everything your taste buds could ever ask for, the crunch of the fresh greens and sprouts perfectly compliments the perfectly cooked rice noodle, and tender beef strips, I could not fault the food if I tried, and if it weren't for the astounding food leading to an easy 5 star review the friendly and welcoming owners and their employees providing excellent customer service would bring it right up to 5 stars all on its own. The fried rice is amazing, and I can be picky about my fried rice. Many places are afraid to add oil to their fried rice, but that's what makes it so delicious I find. Spring rolls are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and so full of flavour, with vegetables you can actually see. The satay sticks, holy hell are they good. Nice bits of peanut, and the chicken is so tender. When I think of perfect satay chicken, that's what I think of.
