The Tom Yum King Prawn wonton soup is spectacular. 6 pork wontons and as many delicious king prawns in one of the best tom yum soups I've tasted. Unfortunately it came after a considerable wait for service, or just water for the table and then 1 litre for 8 people. When asked for a second, " Would non chilled be ok as we've not got enough cold." was the reply. This one never came. The waitresses seem extremely young, and with the number of patrons, completely run off their inexperienced feet. The satay chicken packs a hit of chilli, and the spring rolls are tasty, with the accompanying dipping sauce being quite a taste sensation with its undertones of lychee remaining after the tomato taste disappears. The chicken in the honey garlic chicken was a bit dry, but the fried rice was delicious. The coconut roasted beef rendang was also very tasty. Mongolian chicken was very sweet for Mongolian without much of a chilli kick. The prawn and scallop broccoli is as it says and is packed with broccoli but also some nicely cooked prawns and scallops. Chicken, prawn, and beef chow mein finish our menu, and whilst not your authentic chow mein was extremely delicious, and the abundant crispy noodles were delicious. A word of advice, take along a water bottle because you will need it as the waitresses don't seem to want to check if you need more drinks of any description. The other negative is the disjointed service of everyone's meals. They come out one at a time, and when there's 8 people, that's a long time. It was the same for the entrees and the mains. Obviously, the food is paramount, but with better management and experienced floor staff, the whole experience could be top rate. Would I go back, absolutely. There's so much left on the menu that...

As a Darwin NT (Australia) resident I’m a keen Asian food buff so I went to Uncle Lims to try the Southern variety of Asian.

Entering ‘Uncle Lims’ is a great experience The quiet but inviting ambiance is clear immediately. The Restuarant snuggly fits behind Chines style walls and is inviting but private. Inside the courtyard the setting is excellent. Good spacing - variety of tables, inside/ outside. The vibe is first class, service was excellent from a group of young locals (not Asian)...service not faulted. I ordered too much food from a very extensive ‘book’ menu. Menu is excellent. Pricing is fine. My wife ordered a vegan meal - Gluten Free options as well. Entree of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken)was as good as Darwin Bowls Club Korean food provider. Wonton soup was great. The mains of Duck was well presented but spoiled by a sauce to sweet and dare I say not a product of the cooking process. Same with the Vegan meal. Both good portions for those in need.

Both meals fine to the palette, but in Darwin it would not meet the definition of authentic. I think we are spoiled.

Overall a great experience though next time I would order a plate with less ‘ commercial sauce’ being passed as a by product of the...

Large group booked in for dinner. Apon first walking into the front door was met with a very rude and abrupt staff member demanding for us to move out of the way. After being shown our table we orderd some drinks and then proceeded to order out entrees and mains. After a short wait 3 out of the 7 entrees came out we then waited 40-50 minutes for the reminding entrees. During this time numerous staffed asked if we were still waiting on entrees after the 40 min wait for the entrees we then had to wait a further 30 - 40 minutes for the mains to come out. When we questioned the staff regarding the long wait just was told it was busy no apologies or compensation offered for this poor service. Once our group finished and went to pay for the $800+ bill we were accused of not paying for the entire bill and threatened to have the police called because of a missed glass of coke. This experience has left a poor taste in our mouth especially since we have dined at this restaurant many times in the past unfortunately will not be back. The management are just worried about money and not the service or satisfaction for...

I ordered the lychee S&S and Nyonya chicken. You can tell the oil that they use to fry the chicken has been overused as the batter is slightly black. The Nyonya chicken is a bit bland (the menu said fried chicken but it wasn’t). I wished they would have fried the curry leaves instead of just chucking in the stir fry. Also the dish could have been elevated to a WHOLE NOTHER LEVEL by frying the chicken and adding salted egg which would have tasted amazing. Edit: thanks for clarifying. I did order the Golden spice chicken. It was ok but I think this dish would have been sooo much nicer with fried chicken and salted egg.
