I think a 3 is pretty fair. When I entered a staff member made a comment which I thought was rude and after having read some other reviews it seems that this is a reoccurring thing which is a shame but I understand that some people are just blunt by nature. That said I don't have to "look past" character traits at other establishments so you can take or leave that as you see fit. But after this I had some food and coffee, which I felt was good and the same staff member was OK. The other staff were very pleasant.
I'm a big fan of soft seats as I tend to sit and work over a coffee or two but the only seats that are soft here are some not super clean looking couches. I don't think this should affect the rating but if you're like me and are looking for comfy seats to sit at for a while I'd say...

A group of 6 or 7 arrived just before our group of 3, and we all ordered straight away from a basic menu of various bacon/egg/toast combinations. It was over 1 hour before our meals were brought out, and then another 5 minutes before the cutlery "was washed and ready" from the first group of 6 or 7. One guy near us was alone and waited 30 mins for his coffee. A short order cook in a Los Angeles diner can turn around breakfasts like these in under 5 mins.
