A Taste of Lebanon, Served with Love at Baalbek!
Last night, we stumbled upon a true gem in Baalbek Lebanese Restaurant, and what was meant to be a simple birthday dinner for my husband turned into an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked through the door, we were enveloped in a warmth and hospitality that truly felt like being welcomed into a family home.
Although the restaurant wasn't aware it was my husband's birthday, the owner treated us with such genuine care and attentiveness. He frequently checked in on us, ensuring we were well-fed and happy, his friendly demeanor making us feel instantly comfortable and valued. My husband has Lebanese friends and family in Sydney, and he remarked throughout the evening how Baalbek felt like a true extension of that familial warmth and generosity.
The food itself was nothing short of exceptional. We ordered around twelve dishes, and each one was a testament to authentic and incredibly delicious Lebanese cuisine. Every bite was bursting with fresh flavors and traditional spices, transporting us straight to the heart of Lebanon. The owner/chef even surprised us with a couple of extra dishes to sample, and these too were absolutely divine – a true testament to his passion and skill in the kitchen.
We left Baalbek feeling completely satisfied and utterly charmed. My husband declared it his best birthday dinner yet, and he hasn't stopped raving about the entire experience! We cannot recommend Baalbek Lebanese Restaurant highly enough. If you're looking for true, authentic Lebanese food served with genuine warmth and hospitality, look no further. We will absolutely be returning and encourage everyone to experience the magic of Baalbek for themselves. You won't be...
Read moreMy family and I went Baalbek last night around 6.40 pm. They were very busy, We were a family of 9 and we sat outside as there was no space inside. Fare enough we sat outside we did not reserve a table.
We gave our order to the girl, as she took the order. She then repeated what was on the list, my husband told her there is a plate missing on her list she turned around and said " no no I have everything on the list'. She told us it would be an hour wait.
We waited over an hour sitting outside by this time it was getting cold and we were getting hungry. My sister decided to go check where our order was at then the staff checked what was happening, in the mean time a table inside had come available so we shifted. When we went inside, we realised people who came after us were prioritised and had received their meals and by this time it was almost 8.
The girl who took our order started bringing out our dishes. My husband asked if she could name the dishes so we could move the food accordingly she turned around and yelled at him saying "can you let me put the food on the table".
My sister addressed her for being down right rude, she scooted off without an apology. Then a guy came out I explained to him what just happened he gave us complimentary chips and drinks. Which was nice of him.
And finally when all our order came out guess what there was a dish missing.
Food was great! But the girl who served us was shocking, disgusting and appalling! if you cant do your job, if you are having a hard time don't put it back on the customer, that is not customer service! That's not how to speak to people in general. Go back to primary school and LEARN...
Read moreEdit: 5 stars to 4 stars. Have to say, one of the best restaurants in Brisbane area and one of the most affordable foods (although prices have gone up slightly) that's also very tasty. Couple of things that were different to our last visit. It seems they stopped using Saaj bread and has gone to standard Lebanese bread.. this is a big downgrade as Saaj bread really gives that true shawarma feel. Secondly, the toum they have now is not at all garlicky. They used to have really nice and strong toum. Unfortunately now it's very bland and lacks the garlic flavour. Maybe they can have 2 types of toum if people are not fans of the strong and authentic toum.
Had chicken shawarma from here and it was really authentic. Just wish it had bit more chicken filling and sauce as the bread was pretty dry (the staff gladly gave some more Toum when we asked). We visited again to try other Lebanese and middle eastern items in their menu. The 1/2 charcoal chicken with rice and chips was really tasty and filling and tastier for just a few $$ extra. The chicken had a nice smokey taste and it went well with the toum and the flavoured rice.
Came here again and as always truly authentic Lebanese/ middle eastern flavours. The chicken shawarma and shish tawouk plate was very filling. It was fresh and hot when it arrived at our table. The owners came out and asked if we wanted anything else. The highlight is that they have very very reasonable prices for all...
