Have been going to CFF for well over 15 years. Food (Egg's Bene) and coffee yesterday for brunch was AMAZING! Sadly this will probably be my last dine in experience. The waitress today was next level rude. A reserved sign was slammed on our table approx an hour into our brunch. We had to enquire when the table was needed, not til 1130, we had at least another 90mins grace. We stupidly took one serviette from the next table reserved cutlery box and we were rudely chastised and said box was immediately removed as my friend had contaminated that sterile environment. In hindsight we should know better as we did breach covid boundaries, so apologies for this rookie mistake. However if we could have gotten the waitresses attention to wipe our table we would not have had to attend to cleaning our table. Said waitress was far too busy setting up for reserved lunch tables to pay any attention to current dine in customers. Had to ask twice for table water to be brought to our table. This particular waitress is long term employee who may have been having a bad day, but it really spoilt our experience. My friend was so embarrassed after being told off for taking a serviette... Sorry Christopher unlikely we will be back to dine in, but will gladly still drop in...
Read moreWe visited Christopher's "Fine" Foods for Father's Day 2018. Having viewed the complete breakfast menu online, we were looking forward to trying a simple, well executed, yet well priced breakfast. How wrong we were.
Upon arrival, we were informed that there was a set menu for Father's day consisting of a choice of 4 breakfast options accompanied by a small coffee and a "Danish Platter", all for $30 pp.
This is highly overpriced. The Danish Platter consisted of a stale miniature croissant and a piece of fruit or two for each person on the table. Looking at the normal prices for the menu options and coffee, it seems that you have added huge margins.
My wife is pregnant and asked to swap poached eggs for scrambled. She was told that the only option for the set menu was to hard poach the eggs. She ended up with what was essentially dry, over boiled eggs.
The feta listed on the menu to come with the smashed avocado seemed to have been replaced with goats cheese. There are dietary and allergy implications associated with this swap. Personally, I prefer goats cheese to feta, I am just glad that my pregnant wife didn't order this.
The coffee was overpriced and burnt.
However, the majority of staff were lovely, the decor was nice and...
Read moreWent for Mother’s Day, didn’t have a reservation but they managed to fit us in. They were hosting a $35/person breakfast (option of 3 meals with tea, coffee and juice included), champagne for mum’s and a little fruit/croissant platter. Ordered a variety of meals including the corn and haloumi fritters which were terrible! The batter was undercooked and floury and the amount of smashed avo was bismal, only about a teaspoons worth. I couldn’t actually finish the fritters they were that bad, the best thing on the plate was the poached eggs.. When we paid I expected the bill to total $140 (4 x $35 Mother’s Day breakfast) but the bill came to $152? The only thing I could think of was they charged us for the champagne my mum had which NOBODY told us WASN’T included in the $35 price of the set breakfast. We didn’t even order it, it was just brought to the table and had we known it wasn’t included in the price, probably wouldn’t have ordered it... It just seemed like a really expensive price for the quality of food and service that was provided... I can’t imagine we will be going back any time...
