I always dread being served by Sia herself because of her attitude and customer service. There’s been many occasions in the past however yesterday, I made an order of 20 lamb buns in-front of a busy cue (big family tings). Sia looked shocked and basically announced that I should’ve called her early and made an order. I then hesitated and told her don’t worry about it and then asked what’s the max I can order in store. She rudely replied “there’s no max, just be mindful of all these people”. (Mind you it was the morning and could see plenty in the steamer. Also made the same order the day before at Le sunrise kruger and they had no issue.) After telling me to be mindful, all of a sudden I was maoga and asked to have 4 instead of 20. Sia kept ignoring my changes to the order and was prompting me to have the 20 but at that point I was uncomfortable to make that payment, embarrassed and just the fact she told me to be mindful gave me the absolute ick. After going back and forth, I remained adamant on not buying 20 and she eventually listened. It’s not the customers responsibility to be “mindful” of the stores quantity. I assumed 20 was borderline bulk seeing as most people order...
Read moreI’ve known Sias Takeaway for many years. Generally has good food. If only they generally had good customer service. My younger brother and I were shopping nearby with our mom, and he became thirsty so I thought to stop at Sias to grab a drink - couldn’t be bothered going down to Dominos or Woolies. Got in there and I think the owner welcomed us by a plain “hello” which didn’t really sound genuine. We got our drinks and she was happily serving those in front of us, and then when my brother and I approached the counter, I politely let her know what we had gotten and I could feel so much bad energy. She didn’t even say anything other than “it’s $6” … so disappointing. Like was she angry that my brother had dropped the can?! Shouldn’t be because I didn’t put it back, I bought that can and made sure my brother didn’t open it inside the restaurant. I feel as though my thirst wasn’t quenched with how bad the service was. Will definitely not come here again and won’t recommend to anyone else. So yeah if you’re hungry, definitely pay Sias a visit, but be quick and have your order ready as it seems the staff...
Read moreIt’s quite sad seeing the reviews said about Sia(the owner) because she is such a blessing to the community and to the islander folks in town. She has a warm and welcoming spirit if you really get to know her. Every time I go to her store with my partner and daughter, she always has big smiles and welcomes us and starts conversation. The people complaining might have just caught her on a really busy day and the traffic might have gotten the best of her. Sias takeaway is usually ALWAYS BUSY. This is the best pacific island food store I’ve ever been to by far. The quality of food Sia serves is the best in the business. From her lamb buns to her chop suey, chicken curry and lamb ribs and sweets(try it all). If you’ve never tried island food, you are definitely in for a treat. Sia, you and your team are doing an amazing job representing all the polys through your skill, hard work and gift of cooking bringing many cultures in to try our food and uniting people a little more. My partner is Australian and her favourite food is Sias. From a proud...
