The Local Fisho Loganholme — Restaurant in Logan City

We been coming here for 6 months or more at least once a week, But after tonight we will look out for some where new. Honestly they are hit and miss, some day your food is hot and fresh, others its cold. They batch cook from what i can tell and don't have enough fryers to keep up in busy periods. I put a phone order in as usual, typical 15-20min response, arrived around the 20min mark after ordering, paid, then saw the burger i ordered get pushed to the side, (I thought my order may be ready soon) while waiting I see other orders getting made up, but they just sit there getting cold for 10mins before chips are ready. Well it was close to 20mins after paying I received our order, 7min drive home. The steak burger stone cold, steak was dryer than mars, also ordered and paid for a burger with the lot, but got steak, lettuce tomato beetroot only. The battered fish had not sign of warmth at all. The only hot part were the chips but they were undercooked and pay for a large and get a small. We have given them the benefit of doubt but after tonight no.

What they could do better: Get another deep dryer or 2, get some heat lamps or a hot box. Cook to order (hot food shouldn't be sitting on a bench for 10mins before going out, it's barely warm when you have...

In the two months I've been in QLD, I must admit to being disappointed in many of the fish N Chips places. Living in coastal Florida, the selection and quality of seafood is hard to beat.

Well, folks, that ended when Julie and I went to The Local Fisho Loganholme. I was totally blown away and that's an understatement. Walking up to the counter/display cases, I found several species of beautiful looking filets. The sweet lady behind the counter said we could choose what we wanted, buy it by weight and for the bargain price of $2.50, they'd prepare it broiled, crumbed, or battered! It would cost me more than that at home.

I guess our eyes were bigger than our tummies because the two crispy and delicious filets were HUGE! Mere words can't describe how fresh and sweet the perfectly fried fish was. I was crunchy outside and juicy inside.

The fries were excellent but I forgot to ask that they be left in the oil a bit longer. My fault but, they did add the chicken salt we asked for.

Now, I'm completely spoiled as to where to go for fresh fish.

Fisho, you've earned my business whenever I'm here and I'll spread the word.

I'd noticed this place a few times and decided to stop in to grab some oysters for lunch. Well bugger me, it's an actual fish and chip shop, not just a place that sells seafood! I ordered a half dozen oysters, a deluxe cod burger, and some chips. I'm not sure how many oysters you've eaten, but I reckon I've eaten more. I'll be damned if I haven't eaten a squillion of em. You kinda just get used to the fact in every dozen or so there's one that's just not as fresh as the rest. It's always a relief to get that one first and finish on the freshest one. I'm telling you this because that didn't happen to me at the Local Fisho. These oysters were perfect! Plump, full of flavour, and as fresh as they come. The burger was absolutely delicious, and the chips were on point. I'm sitting here watching thousands of people drive past on the freeway and shaking my head. No matter what they're doing for lunch, they're missing out.
