Lovells Bakery on The Murray — Restaurant in Mannum

Stopped here even tho we had food in the car just so we can support some small business in these horrible times and I do love a home style chunky steak pie... unfortunately this pie was not my favourite ever. While there was nothing really wrong with it, I struggled to find anything good about it either and could only compare it to a factory made Balfours pie that been on the supermarket shelf for a week. Guy at the counter was nice enough and did cut the Kitchener bun in half for us, but it did take a few minutes to be served and there was only 2 other customers. I'd hate to see it on a busy weekend. Absolutely pathetic. $4 for a tiny portion of apple crumble slice, the portions in the display where all different sizes, the base was undercooked and soggy and the topping was also underdone The bacon and egg roll. What is this? It is dry to the point of barley being able to eat it, and so not worth $7! Whoever was in charge of the rolls today really needs to rethink what's acceptable to serve because this isn't it.

Definitely regretting coming down...

Quite underwhelming. I make a point of supporting local bakeries when I travel through places, but will only regretfully be back here if the other one is closed. The pie was flavourless and run-of-the-mill, edible, but I wouldn't be hanging to go back.

I felt staff we minimally interested in serving, even when you make a point of being friendly and overly courteous.

Will I be back? Probably. Will I seek alternatives...
