Rustic Country Cafe — Restaurant in Mannum

Came in yesterday to be asked on entry if we had masks, by a woman not wearing a mask cutting vegetables with her bare hands and plating them. When told her no we don't have masks, she proceeded to tell us she couldn't serve us unless we had masks. I asked her where her mask was to which she replied, with an attitude, in her pocket and when she comes to serve us she would put it on. So you can handle our food with your bare hands, without wearing a mask but require us to wear a mask just to speak to you? We were then served by a lovely man who was handling bread rolls without gloves, also was not wearing a mask (until he approached the counter to take our order) Who took our order, after touching his mask that was in his pocket, pen and paper and the register. Then took off his mask, put it back in his pocket and continued to cut up the rolls and handle other food without washing his hands. Seems there's abit of a double standard here as you're handling your masks and our food without proper hygiene but you require us to wear a mask to speak our order to you... Also the other man was running out orders to people waiting outside, no mask, touching door handles, chairs in the dining area etc. Other than that, food tasted great, hence not a 1 star review, although chip serving size is too expensive for what you get. Chicken tenders are absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back however we will not wear our masks and hopefully we will have a more welcoming, polite...

Had an overnight stay in Mannum. Had a look online for somewhere to eat and came across Rustic Country Cafe. We sat in the car in front of the store, reading the digital menu to see what we could have. Sharni, a staff member, came out with a menu offering an easier option. We ordered the Rustic Fisherman's Catch for 3, thinking it would be a good sized meal for 2 (haha) OMG it was huge and definitely only needed it for 2 people. The calamari was cooked to perfection, not stringy, extremely tasty. The prawns & scallops were cooked beautifully and were extremely tasty. The fish was well cooked, moist and tender. The chips and salad were great too.

The staff were lovely but special mention to Sharni. She would definitely be an asset to the business. We will come back next time we are in Mannum. Well done Rustic...

I loved this place as soon as I stepped through the door. Staff were preparing fresh food behind the counter and the quality was impressive. The menu is extensive and I must say I noted how neatly it was displayed and written on the blackboard. I appreciated the good quality customer service and smiles by the staff. Coming from Melbourne the coffee capital of Australia the cappuccinos served here are of equal taste, well done guys. The dining area is tasteful, clean and wheelchair friendly.
